Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:The roof still leaks after an attempted repair. I have photographs of the leak into the roomThe concrete is still not level. Should have been leveled prior to building the room. I have photo graphs of the problem that was pointed out prior to building the patio room. Also photos of the first attempt to level it and the later attempts. The room is now dirty from grinding the concrete after the room was built. The man sent to repair the concrete I told not to grind with a hand grinder but to go get a dust free grinder. He ground it with the hand grinder anyway about 3/the of the required amount. I told him when he left to send someone out to clean up the room inside and out. No one came? The wall was torn down under the directions of the contractor who said it would be fixed. I never had contact with the cement contractor after the wall built until I came home one day and he was in the process of tearing it down. I would like to have this sub contractors contractors license number. I have photos of the crooked wall after it was built and after it was torn down. The GFI outlet doesn't meet the requirements of Santa Barbara County. The contractor was paid in full before all these issues were settled, that was my problem. The permit is still open

As stated by the Business. The Customer has called us out on service call to fix a drip in the roof next to the chimney which within days we were on the job fixing itThe Customer was instructed not to put water on the repair for hours. As to the floor not being level, we sanded and put self-leveling compound on the existing slab that he provided to obtain a flat surface to which he could lay his flooring onThe Customer was made fully aware that we were not intending to make his floor Level, but to make it flat, as it was an existing out of level floor and he did not want the extra cost of tearing it out and re pouring a LEVEL slab.As to not cleaning the room, our worker went above and beyond what was expected in cleaning, our worker re-washed all the walls and windows, swept and vacuumed the floor, then wiped everything down again. As to the GFI not being replaced, it was, along with all of the other receptacles in the room installed with tamper resistant receptaclesThe Customer argued with me about this and I suggested that he get down on his hands and knees to look and he stated "I'm sorry; I guess I should have looked at them better".As for any problems with the block wall which is the real problem hereThe Customer worked with another individual on this matter and paid him directlyHome star construction did not do any work with the wallThe Customer has not tried to contact us on any of the concrete work items, or any work for that matter, except the one service callAll he needs to do is call us and we will schedule a time to go out and fix any problems that exist per our contract/warranty.Thank You for your time in this matterAny further questions please email or call us again ** **

This issue has been resolved.  There was a spot of concrete that was higher that needed to be addressed and we ground the concrete spot lower to fix the issue.  The leak was a minor leak that had to bee caulked, and that was completed. The issue of the blockwall is not within the scope of...

our ageement and contract documents. Our customer hired our cement subcontractor on his own to build the small wall.  His agreement was between the cement contractor and him. He paid the contractor directly.bI hope this resolves any further issues.D[redacted]Home Star Construction

I am rejecting this response because:I still have the following issues which were reported to him via mail sent 15 June:The floor he added to the existing floor is not level with the existing floor on the east end.    He sent out a man to fix this problem, Monday 15 June, without the proper tools.  He ground the floor with a hand grinder removing approx. ½ inch of the ¾ inch required.  I told him before he started don’t use a hand grinder as it will cause too much dust. He used the hand grinder anyway which caused extreme dust everywhere.  No one was sent out to clean the room inside or out ?  This man did not clean the room inside or out as he stated, my wife and I had to clean it.  I have photographs of it after he left showing the dirt and dust. This same man on 15 June also attempted to fix the roof leak at the chimney, it still leaks.  I had my grandson climb on the roof Saturday 20 June and pour water on the roof around the chimney.  It leaked in 3 places around the chimney and one place east above the GFI outlet.  I have photographs of the leak. The rain gutter still leaks at the splice.  I would like to know why I have a splice in the rain gutter?   It would have been better to have a continuous gutter.  Also the corners leak at both ends but not too bad. His subcontractor that demolished the wall never came back to rebuild it.  I have been waiting since May 13 for the repair.  I never talked to the subcontractor about removal of the wall that was all done between the contractor and his subcontractor.   I asked to have the California Contractors License number of this subcontractor.  I have now found out, from the California Contractors Board, that this subcontractor that did all the concrete work was working with an expired license.  The GFI outlet has not been changed to the county required type.  The other outlets have been changed.  I have a photo of it too. The building permit is still open pending the outlets and the wall.      This information noted above was sent to the contractor on 15 June 2015.  I have a copy of the letter.Regards,M[redacted]
