I have been a customer of ARTELCO four times over the past years (and not in the same location either)Every time I sign up with their service it is only due to two reasonsOne, that there is literally no other option for any kind of high-speed Internet where I live and the second reason is that I keep hoping ARTELCO has decided to evolve and upgrade their network
As a result, every single time I siI am let down by their horrible serviceThey charge up to four times more than the majority of other ISP companies, their equipment is outdated, and their customer service acts ignorant of the very technology they installAny time there are issues, their first reaction is to blame the customer's PC or home networkIf they doesn't fly, they talk your ear off about claims of future upgrades to their network "maybe" years from nowAnd if that doesn't work to shut up the customer, they flat out tell them maybe they should move or sign up with some other ISP
I work in I.Tand understand what is involved and also understand that for whatever reason last year, ARTELCO even denied accepting a federal grant that was given to 95% of the rest of the counties in Arkansas along with other states via "Connect America" for the sole purpose of upgrading and improving Internet services
ARTELCO's employees also talk about that upgrading their equipment as "not worth the investment"What they fail to understand is that lack of investment is only going to hurt their company in the long run if they cannot keep up with the demands of modern technology
Like I said, I have been a customer of ARTELCO off and on over the past years and they have yet to show any significant signs of upgrading sufficiently to meet the demands of their customers and certainly do not have fair prices for the level of abyssal service they provide
Don't get there internet service if you live out side of the Clinton area. You won't get what you are paying for actually you will get dial up speed of even that. We have Tier 3 supposed to be almost top tier. Our neighbors do also as well As our Landlord has business and we are all getting crappy service. Downloads of less then 0.50 Mbps and uploads of less then 0.21 Mbps numerous phone calls and complaints directly to them have gone in answered or they just give us the sundaes response well it must be your equipment. I'm an IT person and it is NOT my equipment. Next when you pay 100.00 a month you expect better service then that. Our landlord has business service and she pays a heck of allot more then that and she is also not happy and she's getting the same speed as I am. They give us well the equipment down the road is old and it one support those speeds you buy And we don't have plans in the future to replace it either. What the heck is wrong with you guys this is shameful
