I hired Olivier Caletti to lay approx1300sf of floor tile, which is beautifulHe also tiled my master shower wall, am happy with that work I also paid him fair dollar to remove & replace master shower floor, which was a disaster The shower floor was river rock, and against Caletti's advice, I had him place the new shower floor over the old tiled shower floorThe job was horrible, small dips between a lot of the rocks did not allow water to drain from shower properly, which created unhealthy yellow slime from standing water
Not possible to keep shower floor dry after showing Called Olivier back hoping he would redo the job - and said "I warned you to remove the old tile floor"....and gave me an estimate of $to remove/replace shower floor again Got a 2nd opinion from *** @ *** in Sarasota *** said removing or not removing the old tile floor had NOTHING to do with the river rock not be installed and draining properly He removed the river rock and nasty grout, placed a beautiful new tile floor over original tile - looks beautiful and drains like a charm....Don't call Olivier Caletti to install your tile shower floor,
unless you want to pay him twice !
We own a condo in Siesta Key, Florida, and needed two tiles removed from the bathtub wall, and then replaced after a plumbing repair was done The tiling work required two visits from the tiler, totalling no more than hours of work, and I had the tiles for replacementOlivier, the tiler, was an hour late for the first visit, but phoned to say he was on his way He was an hour late for the second visit, but didn't callHe charged $for his work, which I felt was exorbitantHe agreed to $450, which I still felt was an overcharge He also did not provide an invoice when the work was completed - saying he didn't have one with him, but that he would send it that afternoon He did not After two requests, I still have not received the invoice I have worked with many contractors in New Jersey, and have never experienced such unreliable service and excessive costs for a very small job
