Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/11/13) */
On 8/22 we received a call that there was a tree fall on this home. We Immediately contacted a tree service to have tree removed so we could secure. Tree was removed 8/24 & we were there to secure area with temporary tarping. We noticed the...

home was built around 1930 and asbestos and lead testing were required before we could proceed with any work. Asbestos/lead testing proved negative 8/28. Work began (demo & dryout) 9/1 and was completed in a timely manner. Insurance estimate was received 9/10 defining work allowed. At that point we discussed with the homeowner what repairs he did or did not want done because he was contemplating selling the home and that decision would have an impact on what he wanted us to repair. On 9/17 we were informed of a leak by the chimney & upon inspection it was discovered wind had loosened a small corner of the tarping and a small amount of water had gotten in and dripped down chimney to basement. At that time homeowner complained of moldy smell coming from lower level. Upon inspection the leak proved to be very minor causing no damage, and the "new" smell in the basement was coming from an uncapped sewer line, unrelated to work being performed. 9/28 we received initial payment & go ahead to begin repairs from homeowner. Permit for the roof was pulled the same day. Roof of home was completed 9/30. Installers unknowingly tore some shingles off the garage by mistake. We decided to complete a new re-roof of entire garage at no cost to homeowner. However, our roofing installation crew let us know that we were 2 bundles short of materials (approximately 5x6 ft). The unshingled area was left watertight & workers were scheduled to return as soon as possibile. No damage resulted from this instance. Homeowner received free garage roof. During this period from receipt of 1st estimate on 9/10 we were in communication with the homeowner to discuss how he wanted and what he wanted rebuilt inside the home. We were not given permission to proceed with interior work until 10/29. On 10/29 we began insulation process, which was completed by 11/7. On 11/4 the project manager and roofing installer met with the homeowner to discuss & repair any and all complaints. All were cosmetic in nature and all roof repairs were completed on 11/7. It was at this time we were made aware of the Revdex.com complaint. By 11/7 all work had been completed to homeowners satisfaction with one item remaining, which is a custom chimney cap which is scheduled to be installed on Nov 18th.
To address the issue of foreign national workers, it is important to note that all of our roofing crews are US Citizens and MN residents who hold MN drivers licenses. We are diligent in checking the MN Secretary of State and the Department of Labor's website before hiring any subcontractors.
