Review: I searched online for a appliance repair service for my washing machine. I called Appliance Repair Fairfax at [redacted] and scheduled an appointment. I was told to give my credit card number and my charge would be $55. I chose to pay by check so they upped it to $65. On November 15,2012, [redacted], Arlington Appliances Services, came to fix the washing machine. He examined the washing machine by taking off the water pump drain and estimated 200 to fix. I called by husband and we decided to get a new one. So I told [redacted] we would not fixed the washer at this time. I did not say when I was going to get a new machine (like right that second). He collected his $65 servcie charge and left with out reconnecting the drain hose. My daughter did a load of laundry later in the afternoon and the washer drained through to the 1st floor, through the ceiling (washer on 2nd floor) and soaked the upstairs carpet. [redacted] did not reconnect the drain hose. He denied it at first, saying it was my fault. Then he said it was his fault but he has no insurance. I have called customer service at Appliance Repair Fairfax and learned it is a company who hires local people to do jobs. They has online offices all over the US. They take no responsibility for this damage to my house. I think this whole online repair service is a scam and a dis service to honest people. I have spent hours on the phone trying to contact somebody to help. My wood floor on the 1st floor has water damage and my padding on the 2nd floor has been partially torn out.Desired Settlement: I would like to know if [redacted] does has insurance. I would like the service charge refunded back and I would like to have my carpet and wood floor replaced. There is no customer service with the companies I have identified here in this complaint. Review: On July 3,2013 I called an appliance service company called Alexandria Appliance Repair ###-###-#### to request service on my Maytag washer. I was told that a repair tech would be out on July 8,2013 and the service charge of 50.00 would be deducted from the repair. I assumed that a tech from the company that I called would be sent. On the 8th a [redacted] from Arlington Appliance Service showed up at my house. He was not in a company car or truck. He was driving a car. He did not have a uniform or show me an ID. He came in and I showed him my washer. He began taking it apart to find the stopped up line to the softener dispenser. He never provided me with an estimate of the cost of the repair. He completed the repair in 45 minutes. He then told me the cost was $200.00. I assumed that the $50.00 would be taken off that so the cost would be $150.00. I thought that was high for labor only but signed the repair ticket and authorized the credit card transaction because I didn't feel comfortable telling him that it was too high since I was the only one there at the time. After he left I checked my utility room to find that he left trash on the floor. I started checking the average labor charges and found that I was overcharged by at least $100.00. $250.00 for a service call on a washer and a 45 minute labor fee is outrageous! I requested a refund from Alexandria Appliance Repair since they are the ones that I called. the refunded the 50.00 fee. but refused to refund the 200.00. They told me that I have to talk to the other company. When I called [redacted] hung up on me. He lied stating that he gave me an estimate and I agreed. He did not give me an estimate. If I had know he was going to charge 200.00 I would have told him not to fix it.Desired Settlement: I want my money back. And I want to warn others not to use this company.
