Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
First of all, thank you for responding to my complaint, this has been the most action I've received since the day I purchased the carUnfortunately I have to disagree with few statements made in your responseThe time it took for your company to respond directly reflects how your salesmen handled my situation; confusion and delays. I drove test the car times by myself and once with the salesmanThe first two times I noticed that there was a slight scraping going on with the back tires and the body due to the tires or suspensionAfter coming back to the dealership I immediately raised my concern about the issue, the salesman told me that he checked the car previously and that the suspension is on adjustable ecoils and that raising them would be low of cost and quickNext I drove the car again and after I stepped on the gas pedal little harder (hard to drive fast due to speed limit being 25mph all around), the car went to limp mode and starting flashing check engine lightI immediately returned to the dealership and talked with the salesman, he was very confused and did not know what was causing it..apparentlyThen I took the car on test drive with my friend and the salesman, the scraping was so bad that I could barely drive the card, his direct words were "This is why I didn't want to drive test with you because the car is weighted-down and this happens..this car is customized for one person only"We cannot deny the fact that they were fully aware of the issues with the carNext, the limp mode and check engine, I stepped little harder on the gas pedal and the check engine went on and the car barely ranWe pulled to the dealership he took out his little scanner and we scanned for codesno codes shown upWe went back inside to discuss the deal and the issues, I raised my concerns with the oils leaks which were super obvious and the scraping and limp modeIt is extremely hard to see all the issues with the car after driving it few blocks down the blockThey told me to go to a local garage and ask to raise the ecoils and if the limp mode keeps happening then to bring it back no problem because of the warranty and that they have mechanics of their ownAfter agreeing that if anything is wrong I can bring the car back I purchase the vehicleThe next day I went to get my ecoils raised and the mechanic says that there are no adjustable ecoils and that it will cost around $to raise the carNext I went to a testing station the pass the emissions, failed numerouslyI contacted the dealership immediately, their response was to bring the car to their mechanic and he will look at it, and they do not know how to help with emissions not passingAfter exchanging phone calls I was finally able to get a hold of the mechanicI drove down to Fredricksburg and left my car with himAfter a week he confirmed that the car needs new springs and its going to cost a lot of money, and also that he currently does not have time to work on my car anywaysWasted weeks now, I call the dealership and they told me that they have a mechanic in the areaAnother week goes by and no response, and this is when I decided to leave my car at a mechanic ( *** *** ***)They came back with the diagnostic of the car and I was in shockContacted the dealership with the issues that my mechanic diagnosed the car with and they told me no worries we will handle itWeek goes by nothing, stopped respondingfinally other salesman answered my phone call and told me that I drove test the car and I need to handle it myself, but if I want I can send them an email and they will talk to the ownerI sent the emailno response to this dayJust to clarify the reason why I was contacting the dealership was not because I was not liking the suspension because I DID, but the fact that the body was damaging heavily the tires and the tires cost a lot of money was why I contacted in the first place.Under the warranty you guys are to be held responsible for ANY major components breaking and ironically enough the issues were before I even purchased the car but I was just unable to detect them with a naked eyeAnd this is where it also reflects how your company really inspects the cars, because these diagnosed damages cannot happen even within months, it was something that has been going on for a while, but instead of fixing them you guys put up the car for sale. Please explain how these issues weren't up to my "liking" :"Tune and Mass air flow sensor rewire ( cut wires)Front lower control arms-(rubber bushing is separated)Front sway bar bushings-(rubber bushing is separated)Rear sway bar bushings- (Consistent cracks, almost separated)Valve Cover gasket-(leaking oil)Oil Pan gasket- (leaking oil)Drive belt and serpentine belt-(belt cracking other belt is shredded)Charcoal cabin air filter-(filled with dirt, leaves etc)Brake Fluid Exchange-(Discolored)Transmission Fluid Exchange including new fluid, pan, and filter-(Due to miles and time). The steering issue, airbag code, and A/C code will need further diagnosis..."Turned out that the power steering was not operationalThe supercharger also the selling point of the vehicle was not operational as well( reason why it was not able to diagnose this during the drive test was because the check engine light went on when I stepped on the gas pedal.)This is what I had to do with the car since I purchased it (car has not been driven since December) cost me close to $3,000:Power steering pump - Remove & replaced ( includes bleed system)Power steering pump drive belt - remove & replaced Radiator hose - remove and replaceReplace MAF sensor harness + reprogram PCMReplace control ArmsEmission testingAs your response I will gladly include proof of work, diagnostics and communication. If this is not the definition of selling a lemon or car or defected car then please explainThe excuse that the car is years old is getting old. Update as of March 2nd:The car has not been functional since the last time I drove it to my mechanic in December, I barely drove few hundred miles since November and the car has yet to pass emissions even after tons of work on the carI have yet to renew my registration because the car is not passing the emissionsIt has not been driven at allI decided to take the matter to my hands after no response from the dealership for months.

March 13, 2018Customer Information: [redacted] 2004 [redacted] purchased November 14,2017Thank you for your letter dated March 5, 2018 which was received March 9, 2018.Background: The vehicle in question is a 2004 [redacted] Model [redacted]. It was acquired by this company in September 2017, inspected by an approved Virginia State Police Inspection Station, cleaned, conditioned, and placed for sale with an industry standard dealer 90-day, 3,000-mile warranty for major components. The vehicle was equipped with aftermarket rims and tires which appeal to many buyers.[redacted] inspected the vehicle and performed "test drives" on three separate occasions. At the time of purchase, he voiced concerns about the vehicle body scraping the tires. The salesperson involved told [redacted]'s came from the factory equipped with adjustable type suspension springs commonly called 'ecoils" which could be adjusted to increase the separation between the body and the tires.[redacted] purchased the vehicle on November 14, 2017 from [redacted] (now Arlington Auto Group - AAG). A 90-day warranty for major components was provided by the company. [redacted] additionally signed a BUYERS GUIDE which listed many of the common types of defects that may occur in used vehicles.A few days after the purchase [redacted] informed the company the front suspension springs could not be adjusted as they were aftermarket suspension springs. This was the first time the company became aware of the installation of aftermarket suspension springs. The statement of the salesperson concerning the ability to adjust the springs was made in good faith - the salesperson did not know the vehicle had aftermarket springs installed. A dispute concerning replacement those springs has occurred. [redacted] wants the company to replace the suspension springs with OME suspension springs. The company declined because the existing suspension springs are not defective.Status: [redacted] asserts the company is responsible for any major components breaking as stipulated in the dealer 90-day, 3,000-mile warranty. The company agrees, but [redacted] has not presented any evidence that any major component of the vehicle has broken since he purchased the vehicle. He is complaining that some components, such as the suspension springs, are not to his liking, but the suspension springs are not broken. In his latest complain, he now lists minor defects which he says were discovered after he purchased the vehicle and believes these defects should have fixed prior to the company selling the vehicle.[redacted] confirms that while he believed there to be problems with the vehicle, he pursued the purchase. The details contained in his letter continue to focus on components he believes maybe broken or defective and laments the time involved in getting the vehicle examined. While indicating he believed the vehicle unsafe to drive, it appears he drove it a considerable distance to obtain a detailed diagnosis and that there has been work (diagnostic) performed on the vehicle which has revealed other defects. A used vehicle with 110,000 miles will have experience 'normal wear and tear" and could be subject to minor leaks, the seeping of oil at mated surfaces and the deterioration of rubber parts. Most, if not all the minor defects he notes are listed in the BUYER's GUIDE as potential defects which may occur in a used vehicle. The company is not responsible for the routine maintenance of a vehicle sold with an industry standard dealer 90-day, 3,000-mile warranty for major components. It appears [redacted] has chosen to use the Revdex.com as a forum for his complaints about the vehicle not being of a standard he would prefer. On January 11, 2018, he was given the contact information for the owner of company but has not as this date chosen to contact the owner. It is anticipated [redacted] will continue to use the Revdex.com to vent his frustration. As noted in our previous response to his complaint, the sale of this used vehicle, with its third party aftermarket components, was done in good faith. The vehicle was inspected at a State Inspection Station on September 22,2017 and passed inspection without issue. It is unfortunate [redacted] now believes this company should have sold him a vehicle which had any signs of normal wear and tear corrected.Sincerely,Richard H.Partner
