I am a public school teacherOn June 8th, I stopped by this store to get color-coded key rings for two very identical keysI was accused by the owner, Tim ***, of shoplifting and was asked to empty my pockets in front of another True Value worker(This was after we exchanged a conversation and he willingly placed two color-coded key rings on my keys which I paid for and had a receipt.) I asked the owner and store manager to view the camera footage prior to accusing a responsible community member of such a crimeHe chose not to and continued to accuse me of stealing a VERY inexpensive itemI can only assume at this point that the video was viewed yet no apology was ever given to me for his wrongdoingA complaint was filed with a corporate location and I was told that I would be getting a phone callI have yet to hear from Mr***I read on Yelp that he has done this before and it is NOT okIt is never okay to falsely accuse someone of shoplifting and the humiliation that comes with itI am seeking an apology from Mr***
