Arlo industries has created a way to get customers off legacy service plans, to more profitable new plans, with less features.
I have 4 arlo ultra base stations and 20 camera's in my home, as well as 6 arlo spotlights
I was paying *** for a year elite subscription with 911, smoke/fire detection, package and pet detection, plus 60 days cloud storage. My renewal date was July 2020
Arlo has created an algorithm for detecting expired credit cards and removing them from your account regardless as to when you are scheduled to auto renew. For my bank, if a recurring charge comes in with the wrong expiration date, it will pay and notify me to correct the date with that vendor. If the card has been removed from your account, it is impossible to process the payment and thereby creates a credit card problem that will trigger a cancellation of your legacy plan forcing you to upgrade to the new services, which cost more and aren't comparable. Arlo purged my card from my account in November, 8 months before my renewal date, which really is the only thing that should have triggered any action with the card. They have informed me, you will lose your legacy plan if there is a credit card issue. They have systematically created credit card issues by purging all expired credit cards. If you are fortunate and realize before they cancel your legacy plan, your plan lives on for another year. If not you will be upset like me attempting to find some resolution. There is no way to reinstate the legacy plan supposedly.
the new plan is *** a month for the first 5 cameras, + *** per month for each of the 15 extra cameras at *** 85 per month, with only 30 days of video storage. for a monthly total of *** X 12 totals *** per year
my old elite subscription with *** smoke/fire detection, package and pet detection, plus 60 days cloud storage was *** annually. The difference between old & new plan is *** with 30 days less cloud storage closest plan is the business Enterprise plan, 40 cameras, 60 days cloud storage & no other elite features. @ *** per month X 12 months is

Desired Outcome

i want my elite legacy plan reinstated. They are choosing not to, as the monetary incentive of a *** difference in their favor is what drove them to create the algorithm in the first place i also want them to cease purging expired cards

The very next day 8/20/2020, I was contacted by a representative from the Arlo executive offices. My legacy elite plan was reinstated and I was actually incorrect when I states the elite plan was *** in fact it was *** so an even difference between it and the new plans. I did also suggest they cease purging expired cards.

So, my complaint has been resolved

RMA number: XXXXXXX. Arlo sent defective camera. Refuses to respond to my requests for replacement with free two way shipping.
I have spent well over $1,000 on Arlo security camera system and batteries. It has been buggy and defective. I have replaced one camera already at my own cost. I have the receipts from Best Buy and Amazon. Before I gave up on this problematic system altogether, take the full loss, and replace it with a reliable system, I gave Arlo one last chance to make partial amends. Arlo agreed to replace a defective camera, but forced me to pay for the shipping to return it. But the camera that Arlo sent is also defective. I immediately notified Arlo. But Arlo now refuses to respond to my requests for replacement with free two way shipping, forcing me to take more loss.

Desired Outcome

Arlo should replace their defective camera without making me bear the shipping cost.

Hello. I have heard back from the company today in the form of a replacement camera that I have received via FedEx and with a prepaid return label for the defective camera. The replacement camera works as expected. I have scheduled FedEx pickup for the defective camera for tomorrow. This resolves the complaint. Thank you for your mediation. Best Regards.
