Re Letter sent Monday, June 22, 2015 ID [redacted]
[redacted].
Message consists of two pages:
Mr. [redacted] hired Arma Coatings to apply an Epoxy floor system which incorporates a quartz sand that is made up of...

several colors mixed in with each other and therefore has an appearance of multi colored speckled effect.
We did the floor exactly to the specification of the manufacturer. The floor was perfect except the colored sand which was a new color supplied by the manufactures' was not perfectly consistent in color as the customer expected, however the floor was perfect. Since the sand is in clear epoxy type of product and the way the sand lays sometimes would have a color difference. Which is normal however we were willing to redo the color coat in order to get it closer to a perfect color consistency
The Technicians proceeded to add an additional coat however an unexpected storm came in as we were finishing up the last clear coat and due to the high humidity the coating reacted and left a few small blemishes in the clear coat along the walls, which are covered with benches and equipment and one in front of the door. Each one a few inches in diameter. My technicians and I tried a quick repair and fully expected it to be good since when the product laid down it looked perfect, and as stated earlier we cannot tell unless we wait 8 hours. Once the product has set there were still visible marks that needed one more step to repair.
I told Mr. [redacted] that I cannot guarantee that the spot repair was perfect the first time and if it were not we would need to do one more step to take care of the blemishes, the floor is not failed but has a color blemish in the clear coat
One of the disadvantages of these systems is that every time we apply either a touch up or a coat has to stand to cure for at least 8 hours before we can see if the touch up or repair is good.
As MR. [redacted] refused to allow Arma Coatings to come back and touch up the floor, I told him we would waiver the balance of the money he owed if he would accept the floor as is, since he would not allow Arma Coatings to return and repair the fault in the finish of the floor, I would surmise that he made the decision to accept the floor the way it is.
I was considering not demanding the balance of the amount owed to Mr. [redacted] and was willing to do whatever it takes to repair the job he decided to post a negative page on Craig's list leaving the fact out of the information that he refused to allow Arma Coatings to come back and repair the floor. And then he called me in a threatening manner hosting that he had posted the negative add on Craig's list. Trying to intimidate me to give into his demands.
Arma Coatings has been in business since 1988 and been in Eugene since 1994 and have done thousands of jobs and work as a contractor and have never had any complaints that we are aware of.
In addition Mr. [redacted] is claiming that we had to come back five times to repair the floor which is not true. The process of application takes five to six steps of operation depending on weather and temperature. There where additional steps taken to prepare the floor due to the floor been in worse condition than it appeared during the bidding.
Since Mr. [redacted] refused to allow Arma to repair the floor, the law states that the contractor must be given reasonable opportunity to rectify faulty work, I feel that he is liable to pay Arma Coatings the balance, however I am willing to let things as they are and will not pursue the balance unless he wants Arma Coatings to do the repairs needed.
Sincerely
Charles H[redacted] (President) Arma Coatings [redacted] Ave Eugene OR 97402

[redacted], Thank you for the return call. As of this date 10/7/15 Mr. [redacted]/Arma International has not refunded my deposit of $1950.00 after confirming he would in several e-mails. He now after 4 months claims I did not give him a chance to repair the garage floor so he won’t return deposit. Mr. [redacted] and his crew attempted to repair the floor a total of two additional times over a period of 5 days. He admitted “ Sometimes these floors just don’t turn out.” and walked off. He greatly impacted my other contractors with delays but didn’t seem to care. Thank you for your time, [redacted]
