Armac

I was called by ARMAC after my orthopedic visit suggesting a knee brace. On the call they told me they would reach out to my insurance provider. A few days later they called and confirmed no out-of-pocket; no co-pay so I agreed to the appointment. The staff was lovely. Two weeks later I received an invoice for over $850.00 for a knee brace! I refused to pay it. They then sent me an invoice for $150.00 co-pay. I reminded them again their office said NO OUT-OF-POCKET expenses. They lied! Do not trust them. The brace was no better than going to a good medical pharmacy. Use caution if going to ARMAC and at the very least expect to pay more than you can. BUYER BE WARE! I wouldn't give them any stars but you evidently have to in order to submit a review. Andrea B. NJ

I am rejecting this response because: It is not a matter of my refusing to pay for a knee brace One agree to pay and expects fair practice (although honestly I do not remember ever being told I was being sold a brace; we were given it as I said; if I signed, no argument about that but one expects to sign something rational) We could have been told or we could have been sent to buy one ourselves for less than a tenth of this Charging $or so for a sleeve to pull over the knee that one could buy for, one would think, $50-$75, is criminally predatory pricing This is in no way fair practice I am not even sure my insurance company knows they paid about $or so for this, but they and I are both being ripped off The fact that the company says that they _can_ and _did_ charge this much does not explain it
