Armada Building Service Inc Reviews (1)

Review: This company started work on the front of my house on 08-**-13. They had to remove old and replace new siding with insulation, new fascia board and capping around windows and soffits new gutters, new front steps and porch roof, rails and balusters, two pillars on each side. To be completed in 4 days. Total cost$7,403.50.They away on 08-**-13 without completing the job by then they had taken$7,000.00. The work they did do is horrible. Did not install fascia boards and capping in some areas. Porch roof is twisted with shingles hanging, capping has to be replaced, no flashing where roof meets wall. Siding bulges in one area, no insulation in various areas, gutters not done properly, all step rails and balusters has to be replaced, damaged. Pillars are a mess literally did not even install top moulding. White trim around siding in most areas needs to be redone. Cement is embedded in bricks and steps. Garbage is still lying around. It has to be seen to believe.Desired Settlement: They could pay an individual contractor or refund the money to me so I could hire someone else to do the job

Response:

To Mediator:

I received customer complaint on 8/**/13, and immediately visited the premises. I acknowledged some of the issues, in particular the balusters and an issue with the siding. I immediately sent a workman out who replaced all the J channels and was working on [redacted]'s complaint when [redacted] started requesting work to be done that was not part of the contract. As communication began to break down, I offered [redacted] $783 for work not completed. Please note at no time did we 'walk off' the job as is implied. [redacted] sent me an estimate for $3,000. I requested a breakdown as that seemed excessive and was then given an estimate from the same company for $4,900. At this point, [redacted] filed a complaint with Home Advisor telling them that I walked off, even while I was trying to resolve the problem. While Home Advisor was trying to mediate, [redacted] filed a complaint with Department of Consumer Affairs. I have text messages where I asked [redacted] to enter her premises to remove the garbage and her response was negative.

While responding to the DCA, I brought a contractor to [redacted], we went over a list of items that she was unhappy with and agreed that I will have the items resolved. I made several attempts to return to get the work done, emails and texts will prove that, also an eye witness. I forwarded all communication to the DCA showing my willingness to resolve the issues. [redacted] told them that she no longer wanted them to mediate, she wanted to go to court. I actually agreed that might be the best course of action since although we agreed on punch list, [redacted] did not allow us to start the work.

As of this date, I am responding to this complaint to the Revdex.com. Please note that [redacted] also told me that she contacted television stations to complain. My position has always been that we are open to fixing the alleged problems in an effort to satisfy the customer, but [redacted] has not allowed us to resolve the issues, instead she has filed multiple complaints with various organizations, making communication and fair resolve almost impossible, and delaying the project.

Armada Building Services has been in business for 8 years and this is our first complaint, [redacted] has indicated that her goal is $4,900 for less than $1,000 worth of work, or her entire amount returned. That is not a fair resolution, and I am willing to have a judge or mediator decide.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Dear [redacted], just to let you know I Will not be responding to [redacted]'s comments at this time. I find some of her comments very insulting and since this matter will be presented in court through DCA next month I think it's best to wait for the outcome . Thank you

[redacted] #[redacted]

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

[redacted] has indicated that she found my former response to be insulting. I apologize if she has been insulted, my goal was to respond to her previous comments by stating the facts and presenting evidence from emails and text messages. It was never my intention to insult [redacted], if any of my comments appear insulting, please indicate such to me. I have tried to keep this conversation on a business level, but it appears that [redacted] has taken it personally. For this reason, I prefer if the conversation ends at this time, as it has moved away from the business issue at hand.

Nevertheless, the matter is set for a hearing with the DCA, and I continue to express that there is a punch list of items that needed to be resolved, I have always expressed my intention to resolve.

Armada continues to work to resolve this issue with the consumer, and will abide by whatever decision is made at the hearing.
