Mr [redacted] , We have reviewed the claim(s) in questionThe insurance policy does not provide coverage for mechanical breakdown, wear tear etcThere is an endorsement added to some policies, which provides coverage for certain types of loss, and to certain types of home systems like a heating and air conditioning systemThis member has that endorsement on their policyThis coverage does not automatically cover all parts of a system, nor does it cover damages caused by any type of lossEach individual issue that occurs with a covered system is evaluated as a loss/claimThe policy deductible is applied to each claimThere were two issues involved hereThe claim has both covered and non-covered damageThe HVAC company completed an estimate for all of the damages, both covered and non-coveredOur adjuster deducted the non-covered damages from the total and then applied the $deductible to the total amount of the covered lossThere is a second claim for issues with the air conditioning unit that is currently being evaluated by the company that provides the endorsement for home systemsThe outcome of that claim is yet to be determinedThe claim that has been concluded was handled correctly and in accordance with the policy provisionsTell us why here

I just sent to the client an email with a copy of the document that shows how payment for his loss was determined and a copy of the adjuster estimate that was not used in determining the amount to pay.The claim payment sent was based on the actual receipts submitted by the clientThe amount paid based on those receipts is higher than the amount estimated by the adjuster.I hope this resolves the issues for the client but have provided him my contact info if he has additional questions.Mike ***

I am rejecting this response because: their response to me said a copy of the appraiser's report is always included with the settlement check. I had asked several times for a copy of the appraiser's report. No copy of the report has been received to date. I have discussed this with AFI personnel on several occasions with the only result is their oral word that the copy is being sent separately. With recent past experience of questionable statements from AFI personnel, their word alone is not acceptable to me. I want to see a copy of the report

Tell us why hereThe claim was reported on March, 9, 2017. The claim was assigned to an adjuster and inspected on March, 15, 2017. The inspection report was received, reviewed and approved on May 1, 2017. The roof on the home is being replaced due to wind damage. As a result
of the wind damage to the roof, interior water damage occurred. The repairs for the interior water damage were included in in the settlement. Payment has been issued and mailed to the insured. A copy of the estimate has also been mailed to our insured along with a settlement letter

The insurance policy was non-renewed with required notice to the member giving him the opportunity to repair the garage to continue the policyAfter the policy was terminated, he did request a hearing and the Underwriting Manager called the customer on 2/24/to discuss the situation
During the discussion, the customer was unable to say when he would address the unrepaired damage to his garage.A letter was mailed 2/27/with a review of the 2/24/telephone call and providing contact info if the customer wanted to discuss further.Repairs for damage to the garage were paid to the customer when the customer filed a claim in but he has not had the repairs madeThe current condition of the garage was discovered during the processing of a separate, unrelated claim.We have acted in good faith in working with the customerIt is important that the property being insured be maintained and damages paid for through the insurance be completed
