A refund will not be issued. First, I dropped my initial price significantly just to help this client because she could not afford to fix and I wanted to help. Second, I actually asked the client to climb my ladder to look and see for herself....
She saw the very small affected area (maybe 12"x12"), I informed her about the situation and I informed her about the added cost and she told me not to re-deck the small area. Third, I informed client that the small affected area is not the source of her leak and that I had a plan to fix it entirely (which included the damaged deck area). The client then had a tree fall on her home and it damaged siding, and a few shingles on an area that I believe to be the source of the leak so she then contacted her insurance agent which I also took the time to meet at her home. Her insurance would not cover the roof repairs but did cover the siding so she planned to use that money to fix the roof. My estimate was a couple hundred dollars higher than what her insurance company had given her to fix the siding so she was upset. Instead of talking to me about it she just hired someone else, acted like she didn't know about the deck, then filed this claim. I would like to add a fourth issue I personally had during this whole ordeal...I spoke with this client several times over the phone and made several trips to the home to explain and re explain what the problem is and why these band aid fixes will not work. During nearly every visit and every call the client was intoxicated. This could be a reason she has difficulty remembering. Thank you for allowing me to respond!

He did not explain about all the rotted wood underneath the roofing, he just roofed over the top. This did not even come close to fixing the leak in the house closet.
No I was not intoxicated every time he came by. Just because I get off work and relax and have a beer does not mean I'm intoxicated.
