Armstrong County Memorial Hospital Reviews (2)

Review: Numerous times the hospital's billing will bill me for things that according to my health insurance they are not allowed to. The first time earlier this year they attempted to bill me $2,700 when my insurance said they were only allowed to bill me for $200 of it (they are not allowed to bill the difference between the billed amount and their contracted amount with my insurance company). Now after calling I have received another bill for a separate service. This one is $90, but again according to my insurance I owe nothing. This is not the first times that this has happened to me. They have double billed me an ER visit in the past that took a few months to get my money back. It seems EVERY time I get a bill from them it is incorrect. I personally know to look out for them now, but I am sure I am not the only person this is happening to because it's too much of a coincidence to think that this has honestly happened probably about 5 times to me (every time I use their lab). I worry about the elderly who probably just get a bill and pay it! Unfortunately I am switching my Dr. (whom I LOVE and how often does that happen now a days) all because I do not want to deal with the hospital and having to call them EVERY time to get a bill straightened out. I am also writing him a letter informing him of why I am leaving his practice and that it is all due to the hospital's billing.Desired Settlement: I do not need a settlement. I am not paying the bill and will fax them all the required paperwork (again) to prove it is not my responsibility. I just wanted to file a complaint so that it hopefully will stop happening to other people.

Review: I had an ER visit Jan 2014 that the hospital is refusing to cooperate and send the claim to my [redacted] company. My [redacted] company advised me that they do not have the claim on file and the hospital is billing me (possibly sending to collections) when they have not billed my insurance company for the claim. I have called several times to the hospital and they are being completely uncooperative. I have even conferenced called with my [redacted] company on the line to help get this solved and nothing is helping. The insurance company is trying to do anything they can to make this easy for the hospital to send and get this claim paid but the hospital is being completely uncooperative and getting this matter solved.Desired Settlement: The hospital needs to send all claims that was for the emergency room visit for that date of service to the insurance company with all clinical documentation and the insurance will gladly pay the claim. The insurance is unable to pay a claim they do not have.
