Arnett Tractor & Equipment

I ordered a tractor part from Arnett Tractor Co. On May 29, 2015. I began on May 23 rd trying to order this part. It took 7 days of constant calling daily to give the part number and information to Mr. [redacted] . He often asked me to give the type of tractor and model number because he lost the information. On May 29 th the part was ordered and shipped to my father's house. When the mechanic attempted to install the part, it was too large . The mechanic and my 84 year old dad called and visited 3 other tractor businesses to try and find the correct part . The salesman at [redacted] stated that there were 2 parts that fit this tractor and that he could order the correct one . My dad agreed and paid for the part to be purchased and shipped . When I returned from out of town , I called Mr. [redacted] to let him know the part didn't fit . He asked me to give him the correct part number so he wouldn't reorder that part for another customer . I asked him if I needed to return the part to him or to the company that he ordered it from . He told me he would get back with me . This continued daily as I tried to call him morning , evening , night, etc. He soon allowed his answering machine to pick up every time I tried to contact him . These attempts finally ended on June 24 th when he accidentally answered my call and stated he wasn't taking the part back . I told him that my credit card was charged $266. 40 for a part that he ordered and that he made the mistake. I also stated that I am a school teacher and have a disabled husband and that I work hard for my money and that I couldn't afford this amount when it wasn't my mistake. He hung up the phone on me and I am unable to contact him . This part listed $135.00 on the Tractor 's website and I was charged $266.40. I feel that this is an injustice to me as a Female, an American and as a honest hardworking teacher . Requested engine be rebuilt as well as other repairs on a [redacted] Tractor, paid for his services and later learned was not rebuilt after confronting him.Mr. [redacted] did not perform the services we paid for. He began working/destroying my tractor in November 2014 and lied about rebuilding the engine. He was asked to rebuild the engine but only painted over it to make it look rebuilt and after confronting him he admitted it hadn't been rebuilt. He rebuilt the motor and that motor locked up only a quarter mile from his shop when we was driving it home. When we picked the tractor up 03/27/15 and got it home we learned he had installed another motor after we requested him not to and it was not rebuilt even though he said it was and he cut inches off the fan blades and removed the fan shroud to make it fit which causes the engine to overheat. Black oil blowing from the engine and leaking profusely. Mr. [redacted] was paid for numerous other repairs that weren't performed correctly. Due to Mr. [redacted]'s actions our tractor is in extremely worse condition then when it was originally brought to him for the services we paid over $3500 for. We have gone through months of lies and shoddy work from Mr. [redacted] that has resulted in our tractor being destroyed. Desired SettlementI want my tractor in the condition it should be in after paying over $3500 to Mr. [redacted]. At this point he will not return my original motor to me that I told him not to replace in the first place. Practically everything that he was asked to repair is in worse condition then when he started. The work that he has performed needs to be redone by a competent mechanic and numerous other repairs and parts replaced that he removed that resulted in damages done by Mr. [redacted].
