Review: I bought a used Cadillac Escalade Aug. 29th, 2015. I smelled gasoline and took it in to get serviced. The put a new purge valve in, but I continued to smell gasoline. Later on, I took it to another dealership and they said it was leaking fuel. A professional, top dollar mechanic should have recognized and fixed a gasoline leak. Later I heard a sound and was told I needed a new rear end differential. Arnold Palmer fixed it. However, after another shopped fixed the fuel pump assembly, they told me my rear end differential was damaged. I informed this mechanic that Arnold Palmer Motors just fixed that problem a month or so ago. After addressing the issue with the general manager, he told me I must have hit something (perhaps unknowingly) that damaged the rear end and took no responsibility for the damages. Two other mechanics told me the same thing: 1. I would absolutely know if I hit anything that damaged it (like a tree stump or something big) 2. the bolts are busted off up in the threading, which would have happened during the repair of the rear end differential.

On 1/15/16, I took my wife's '09 Impala in for service because it was overheating. Arnold Palmer Motors said that we needed a new thermostat. On 1/15/16, we returned it for the same problem, except this time they said I needed a new head gasket ($1700). In March of 2016 (Impala is driven very little), the engine overheated and my wife called her friend for assistance. He pointed out that the thermostat was improperly installed, specifically the seal ring, causing it to overheat and potentially blowing the head gaskets. There is visible heat damage to the seal. After speaking with other mechanics, they both agreed that an improperly placed seal will lead to overheating and potentially blowing the head gaskets.

On 5/16/16, I had approached the general manager (after towing the Cadillac to their dealership for unrelated problems) about the faulty repairs on both vehicles. He stated he wanted to gather more information and would get back to me.

On 5/19/16, Arnold Palmer Motors called me and informed me I needed a new starter and new battery because the current battery was dead. At this point, I talked to the General Manager again to ask about a resolution. He informed me that there was no possible way the thermostat was improperly installed and they would not refund me the money for the blown head gaskets (which occurred due to faulty repair of the thermostat). He also told me that his mechanics did not damage the rear end differential in the Cadillac, and will not fix it. This is contrary to other professional mechanics opinions that 1. the rear end could not be damaged by driving over regular potholes on the road 2. the busted bolts in the threads of the rear end bracket was more than likely done by a mechanic trying to fix it 3. blown head gaskets days after replacing the thermostat is no coincidence and more than likely caused by an improperly installed thermostat seal (which has visible heat damage).

The General Manager, Ron, basically said they take no responsibility for any of these incidents and sorry for your luck.Desired Settlement: At the very least, I would like the rear end differential fixed (which cost me just under $1000), a refund for parts and labor for the head gasket replacement (which was due to faulty installation and cost approximately $1700), a refund for the purge valve ($250) which the Cadillac did not need, and a refund of $618 for work done by another mechanic to fix the fuel pump assembly.

At best, I want refunded for the head gaskets in the Impala and a refund on the Cadillac Escalade which has had so many problems, that it is impossible to have not known the vehicle was defective. The vehicle was represented as in great working shape and inspected over by the mechanics before purchase.
