This customer Agreed to more than 3000.00 worth of work and then changed his mind half way through once 2000.00 dollars worth of work was complete that he had given us the ok to go ahead with. Originally He asked for 1000.00 dollars worth of work and then stopped by multiple times asking for... more work to be done, fix the cracked shock tower which he never disclosed to us when he dropped the car off. We could have been at risk of an accident test driving because he never disclosed this major problem. He also requested I fix 1000 dollars worth of oil leaks, headlights, door lock cylinder, choke cable, install mirror, buff and detail, redo all the upholstery. He understood that it would be more money and that he had agreed to upwards of 3000.00 worth of work and more if we did the interior. He called one day out of the blue and asked us to stop work and that from the looks of the invoice he claimed we owed him money. He didn't read the invoice correctly, It had already had his money paid deducted from it and the 1022.00 was the balance owed after what he had already paid. So he came to try and pick up the car and tried to claim he only agreed to do 1000 dollars worth of work while claiming he still wanted things fixed that he had not been charged for. His car is still at my shop and he is making invalid complaints. I am always doing right by my customers and this complaint is invalid and untrue. I did drive his car on the highway and its not safe to drive and it said that on his Invoice and he was well aware of that before he dropped the vehicle off. I am just happy I had not finished the 3000 dollars worth of work that he agreed to do because he would not have wanted to pay the bill. One day he claimed I stole his carburetor and he claimed it was a 750cfm Holley and it was a 600cfm eldelbrock part number 1405 missing the choke cable not a Holley and not 750cfm. His carburetor had sat for 10 plus years with rotten gas in it and it started to eat the metal away on the gasket surfaces and it is not rebuild-able or reusable with out replacement parts that the manufacture dose not sell. He is asking that I give him his money back and do the work again in his request. I am not going to refund money for work he requested to be done and I am not going to do everything again because that would be pointless. I got the car running and it runs well and it came back with a faulty ignition switch that I installed and that I am paying a tow bill for and replacing the faulty part free of charge to him. Also this customer has not complained to me yet this is the first I have heard of the complaint. He has not told me he is unhappy nor that he wanted his money back. He also stated when he came back with the final payment that he understood the bill and he apologized and said it was his fault for the misunderstanding.
