This letter is a response to the ID noted aboveWe area medical providerWhen individuals, including third parties, call our office to schedule an appointment, they often do not understand the ever increasing complexities of insurance issues
This is especially true if it's not their own policy in this particular situation, Pre-authorizations must be obtained before we perform our services.A quick review of this specific situation reveals that an Individual called * an 2/11/regarding scheduling an appointment for his fatherThis individual (the ‘client D # ***) had no details regarding his father's insurance or current physician, issues out office needs to see any individual Our office stated that we need all information before we schedule an appointmentThis was relayed to the “client” in a polite manner Unfortunately, this third party could not understand our office policies - and does not understand insuranceThe ‘clients’ temper and mood took an unpleasant tone over the phone, as a response to our reasonable and customary requests No appointment was given due to no complianceIn addition, our records show that this particular patient has not been to our office in over ten yearsTen years ago an insurance (Medicare) was usedReturned correspondences our office sent to the patient show that the patient has moved twice with a costly and time consuming no-show on his last scheduled appointments (9/23/and on 6/9/05) to our officeWhile we do not charge for missed appointments, many offices do* Furthermore, (ten years ago) the patient took over one year to clear his balance due at our officeIn regard to the phone call on 2/11/2015, at no time did the son/’client’ state that his father would be a self-pay for servicesFurthermore, what benefit is it to our office not to see a patient?
With over thirty years in the prosthetic eye business, and servicing thousands of individuals, we conduct our office in a professional manner, in spite of individuals who are rude, antagonizing and ill-informedWe have a very diverse clientele, How sad that a patient must go without due to a lack of common sense and adequate protocol from his/her childIf you re-read the "Customers Statement of the Problem," it sounds totally preposterous, perhaps the "customer" can provide an audio of the encounter to prove his fairy tale of a story? One can obtain better resul'ts with a box of donuts rather than using a sledge hammer when scheduling an appointment,We lave responded to this silly ‘complaint' and will not spill any additional energy on this matterWe consider this matter closed.Kind Regards
