We are responding to a complaint that was presented to us through your Revdex.comAs a representative of Artisan Fine Finishing, I have been in business four years prior before the market crash in and open up Artisan Fine Finishing going on five years without zero incidentsI am definitely not perfect but really strive for customer service and pay attention to detailI tried my best to work with these customers and spent countless hours getting the job refinedHowever, I knew they were on a budget and allowed them to buy cabinets and counter tops directly without my mandatory 15% markup and agreed that I would only charge them for time spent on cabinet consulting layout, which came out to $When one of the clients became demanding, aggressive and disrespectful and couldn't understand the basics of a minor kitchen remodel; I decided that it wasn't a good fit for me and my companyI spent multiple hours prepping and revising indecisive estimates over and over to please their needs with no business-like and respect of me and my craftMy original hours of cabinet consulting was $and sent them an invoice without any response and lowered it to $to help them out and still no responseOn top of that the flooring was given to them at cost and free deliveryAs for the retainer they did not pay the 50% down which is the requirement stated on the Estimate and did not sign the agreement to start on the project, which was another red flagI believe in this matter that they still owe for my hours spent on strategizing for their job that another contractor could come in and easily take over with a clear plan that I set up for them To end, I am respected and sought after contractor in this town and I have not had a situation like this before and though I was doing the right thing by not escalating the situation to wear it is uncomfortable for them and me throughout the duration of the project Regards, [redacted] Artisan Fine Finishing LLC 360-820-***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: In response to Mr***: He states, “I knew they were on a budget and allowed them to buy cabinets and counter tops directly.” Yes, we are on a budgetWho isn’t? And I believe we have the right to purchase cabinets/countertops and other materials where we so pleaseThis was one of the issues, as he seemed to want to control every bit of our project down to telling us that it would be his plumber who would buy our sink and faucetThis was very strange and controlling to us. He states, “I spent multiple hours prepping and revising indecisive estimates over and over to please their needs with no business-like and respect of me and my craft.” This process began in Feb and he took several months to get us a final estimate due to errors and being “indecisive” on his part and a lack of details: For example, on April he wrote, “I have attached the plans for the kitchen and dining room and the estimate for your review.” But this was no different from the one he sent previouslyWe responded on April 23, “We had discussed you providing us with an updated - itemized by line item - estimate; however, what you have attached is the very same estimate you sent previouslyPerhaps you attached the old bid instead of the new - itemized by line item?” He responded on April 24, “That's super strange let us look into itI'll try again.” This continued for numerous draftsAs mentioned in the initial complaint, there was an estimate provided that did not even have the amount for the cabinet install, giving us continued pause and concern Finally, on May he wrote, “Sorry it took me so long to make revisions, but I have attached the Final Estimate and hopefully we can this scheduled.” We responded on May 14, “We'd like to get a retainer payment to you this week; however, the amount has not been specified and we'd like a commitment as to your start dateAs stated before, we had tentatively agreed to either June or As soon as we get this confirmation, we'll send you the paymentAlso, please let us know what the next steps are as we move forward.” He responded on May 15, “Ok thanks for making it official and all I need for now is $deposit and then when I start 50% and I'll get you a exact amount when closer.” At this juncture we provided him with $1,as requested to be placed on his calendar He states, “My original hours of cabinet consulting was $and sent them an invoice without any response and lowered it to $to help them out and still no response.” This is an out-right lieWhen he walked away on June 12, his text stated, “Sorry I did not deliver for you guys and I will send a final invoice for what has been done so far.” We responded by e-mail stating, “As for the invoice you plan on sending us: no work has been completedKindly send us the flooring invoice and we'll reconcile that in relation to the $retainer we gave youWe assume that the flooring did not cost $1000.00, so expect a check from you for the difference.” It was then on June he left an envelop at our front door with a check for $and the first invoice we had seenThe invoice was dated May and included “cabinet consultation and layout” for $and “hickory flooring” for $There was never any cabinet consultation, as we met with the employee of the company we purchased the cabinets from without Mr***He states it himself in his response, “allowed them to buy cabinets and counter tops directly.” He states, “As for the retainer they did not pay the 50% down which is the requirement stated on the Estimate and did not sign the agreement to start on the project.” Again, as per our e-mail exchanges, he stated himself, “Ok thanks for making it official and all I need for now is $deposit and then when I start 50% and I'll get you a exact amount when closer.” We gave him the thousand he requiredWhy would we pay 50% down when he never started? He states, “When one of the clients became demanding, aggressive and disrespectful and couldn't understand the basics of a minor kitchen remodel I decided that it wasn't a good fit for me and my company.” I was direct and assertive, yesBut perhaps because I am female, he views this as,”demanding, aggressive and disrespectful”We asked many questions, as this is a project we were having done in our home and were spending much money on and had every right to know what was happening and glean understanding. It is a simple matter: Mr*** agreed to do a job, but walked away one week prior to its beginning and has kept the retainer money of $we gave him to be placed on his calendarWe agreed to pay for the flooring which came to $We are still owed the remainder of our retainer: $365.25, as they have already paid us $184.75.
Sincerely,

We are responding to a complaint that was presented to us through your Revdex.com. perfect but really strive for customer service and pay attention to detail. I tried my best to work with these customers and spent countless hours getting the job refined. However, I knew they were on a budget and allowed them to buy cabinets and counter tops directly without my mandatory 15% markup and agreed that I would only charge them for time spent on cabinet consulting layout, which came out to $300. When one of the clients became demanding, aggressive and disrespectful and couldn't understand the basics of a minor kitchen remodel; I decided that it wasn't a good fit for me and my company. I spent multiple hours prepping and revising indecisive estimates over and over to please their needs with no business-like and respect of me and my craft. My original hours of cabinet consulting was $350 and sent them an invoice without any response and lowered it to $300 to help them out and still no response. On top of that the flooring was given to them at cost and free delivery. As for the retainer they did not pay the 50% down which is the requirement stated on the Estimate and did not sign the agreement to start on the project, which was another red flag. I believe in this matter that they still owe for my hours spent on strategizing for their job that another contractor could come in and easily take over with a clear plan that I set up for them.  To end, I am respected and sought after contractor in this town and I have not had a situation like this before and though I was doing the right thing by not escalating the situation to wear it is uncomfortable for them and me throughout the duration of the project.        Regards,    [redacted] Artisan Fine Finishing LLC 360-820-[redacted]
