Review: I took a day off and lost a day of work so Artisan of Stone could deliver my countertop on Friday May 2nd as promised. At 8:30am on Friday with no notice, I got a phone call that they would be out on Monday the 5th but with only my countertop and not the splashboard which would be installed on Wed the 7th. The installers got here and while removing my old counter/splash they damaged my refrigerator..with dents in it and then decided they should remove the refergerator AFTER the damage was done. No contracts have been signed but I was told my final bill would be $1,845.27 once the splashboard is delivered and I have the invoice. However, now they say they charge extra for the tear out of the old counter and splashboard but they never have said how much and they didn't tell us before the tear out that they will charge extra for it. Service and organization is horrible!Desired Settlement: Deliver my splashboard and install on Wednesday 5-7-14 as promised.Contour my countertop as ordered instead of just the original square edge.Since my refrigerator was damaged during the tear out and Artisans of Stone didn't inform us that they charge extra for tear outs before the tear out was done and still hasn't told us how much the charge is when my husband was here when they got here so they could have told him..then accept my check for $1,845.27 as paid in full OR buy us a new Fridge.

Response:
In regards to this matter, the tear-out was something that was overlooked by one of our employees. Which we apologized for, gave you a discount and did not charge you the $300 tear-out fee. There is a system for tear-outs, which involves the removal of all appliances before our installers arrive because things like, dents, can happen. Our guys were trying to get everything done without damage, however, due to us arriving without knowledge of tear-out (not customers fault), unfortunately, it happened. Hence the reason for discount. As far as being unorganized, the job was supposed to consist of just using remnants, which would lower the price of the job. However, full height splash plus all counter tops takes more than just the remnants we had in the back, so we then had to order an entire slab, which we did not charge for and still gave at remnant pricing. This is why we installed granite late and at two different times. In some cases, things don't run as smoothly as we like, and there can be mishaps, such as this.We take responsibility for the things that happened and are sorry that [redacted] feels the way she does. Thank you, Artisans of Stone
