Artistic's reply contains at least flat-out lies: His estimate on the phone included doing the sidewalk (to city specifications including PSI) as we'd clearly statedBut upon visiting the site in person he said we'd only mentioned "gutter" (huh?) Then he said: "no problem, it's just going to cost $more, but I can get a permit with the city and do this job real soon anyway." Although we were in a rush, we did not (could not!) request or authorize curb cutting without a permit [redacted] promised to obtain one soonWe trusted Artistic to know and follow the rulesWe were horrified when the city inspector complained to us afterward about the cutting being done without a permit, being done badly, leaving a mess (which we had to clean up), and on top of that, ***'s attempt to bribe the inspector to let him finish the job without a permit Artistic never attempted to obtain a permitIn fact they COULD NOT because they were never registered with the cityNor did they actually file a registration fee as told to us; apparently another lie to stall for timeWe checked, and the city permit desk had received nothing from them but a phone message We never said anything about holding our deposit checkIn fact they cashed it the same day A $minimum was never statedThis is merely an attempt now to rationalize keeping our $half-down deposit Furthermore: - When it became clear Artistic was unable to perform as promised, [redacted] twice (on different days after doing the concrete cutting) offered to return our money to usThe second time we agreed, although reluctantly because we'd have to scramble to find someone elseApparently this promise was also a lieWe would still settle for a simple refund of our deposit - We did not hire a replacement nor pull a permit until well after Artistic lied to us about getting registered with the city and then ceased communicating with us - The replacement contractor (already registered with the city) did competent work quickly, and for a total of just $(***'s $was pure extortion.) - Finally, on several occasions Artistic promised to visit with us in person at the job site to show us city paperwork"No problem, we're just five minutes away." We were stood up every time Unless Artistic promptly refunds our full $1500, we will continue to seek criminal and/or civil redress Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 13, 2015/11/10) */ 1) I have a text message from Mrs [redacted] with specific instructions on how to saw cut the areaI can provide proof of rental for the walk behind saw and the very expensive blade which alone put me over the minimumAlso there is fuel charge and administration cost please provide me with a valid email so I can send you the invoice for remaining expenses which I was willing to eat just to get away from these con artistI've got witnesses to Mrs [redacted] asking me to hold the check which my response was I was not willing to do any work including application for permit without a deposit as I've spent over days working on their project and I also have labor, fuel and overheadThe [redacted] breached contract leaving me with materials and labor I paid forPlease fill free to call and ask anyone or minimum we always state over the phone to eliminate wasting time for both us and the consumer

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 25, 2015/09/28) */
Money was not asked for in advance there was a deposit which was in contractThere was a change order the morning of the pour as the *** ' s home is outside of the delivery area we were forced to pay an additional $for the concert
which at the time Mr *** was out of town we kept to the scheduled pour and didn't ever get reimbursement for the extra fee from the concrete delivery companySeveral custom requests were made after project started which we'd all meetWe have heard nothing and months later we get a complaint that the job in the basement which was only a patch as Mr *** didn't want to tear out and replace entire room correctlyWe told him to get a flush floor tear out and repair is the correct way to do it he said that he needed hole filled as carpet company lays self leveling product before they put down carpetThe amount Mr *** is asking for is more then what we charged to do the work in the basementThe final payment wasn't made until pet contract once concrete was poured

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 16, 2015/07/08) */
As of day one we have went above and beyond to try and please ***On 04/10/meeting her son told her this was $4500-$worth of workWe gave her a great deal and quality products materials and labor for $Also she is not in the
area and since we thought it wasthe existing concrete to be the standard 4-inches of concrete to tear out we figured that we would be able to get this done mutually benefiting Ms*** and Artistic concrete flooringHowever once the demolition started we realized that the concrete was ft thick and had Rebar steel reinforcements which made the demolition alone more costly then the entire job was estimatedACF stands by its word and kept the price the same even though it took extra time labor equipment fuel and fees from the concrete plant for the location*** called to complain about something or another from day oneAs this project took place in spring there were several days that it rainedOn 04/23/we had to meet the laborers that worked on her job as they require we provide transportation since the job was so far they refused to work due to unsafe conditions there was a severe weather alert it was hailing lighting and thunderstormsWhen I spoke to *** she stated that there was not a stop of water thereI explain to her that we would come early the morning of the puor and the job would be done as scheduledShe continued to call and complain and her calls were always answered or returned and we continue to offer a solutionPer the contract a cure and seal was used during the pour*** has continued to fill up the voice mail box despite the fact that we kept in contact with herShe only expressed concern when we spoke in June on Friday at that time we told her that our next available time would be on the weekend she stated that we could not come out and look at the areas of concern as well as pick up anything left behind she stated that we could only come out if she was there and that she had church, then the next time we offered she had a funeralMost companies are weeks out we continue to offer to come out within the weekHowever We are not willing to take anymore of a loss on this job and quite frankly as she stated she is just wanting a full refund and free patio
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 18, 2015/07/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Some of ***'s comments are bold faced liesI did not complain from the beginningI was pleased with their workThe day they were in Aurora and it was raining, check the weather reports it was NOT raining in ThorntonIt was degrees and sunnyThey never called to find out and I believe all I wanted them to do was check the levelness of my patioI admit, I did complain when the rocks of concrete they removed from my patio were in the street for over a weekI was afraid the post man would be unable to deliver the mail because my post box was blockedI did start calling *** and his wife *** around May 29th, month after the concrete was poured and the work area was still not cleaned up and finished and the forms were still not removed as quoted to me that they would be removed in days after the job was started (taking in the fact of rain days it would be longer)The first Sunday *** was to come over, I had Mass and a Funeral to attend to both the same day - not two different day as *** wants you to believeI called *** on May 29, only to hear "At owners request, we are not accepting incoming calls at this time." So I called ***She would have *** call me back that afternoon - it was 11:I left at 3:pm No phone call or message was leftI called him on July 6, the day he was to responded to Revdex.com call rang times then turned to a busy signalCalled ***, had to leave a messageJuly 8, spoke to ***, he said I screamed at wife (lie), I sounded like I wanted to complain about somethingHe was really busy and wanted to look into "this Revdex.com thing", said he thought he had to get a lawyer (I said why can't we just settle this on our own)He wanted to know why I was so upset, I told him to come look at the job and he would be upset if someone did this job to himOn July - *** called me (First time he called me since first of MayHe coming Sunday (the 12th) to check out the patio and the other damageHe will call before he comesMonday, July @ noon, called and left message, "I waited for him yesterday - no phone call, no message left - what happened? Told him I would have to move along to something else, Please call meOver the past months, *** has told me that he could not come over to my house until he completed other peoples' job
I believe *** gave me a good deal on the patio priceBut, HE made the deal, I did not argue with the price*** drilled into my patio before the deal was made, and he knew how far away from his business my home wasHe said My patio job was a good time to have things done, because it was his slow timeI don't feel that I should suffer from having an unprofessional job because he has decided that he doesn't want to finish the job
I would like to thank ACF for all of their work, I just want the forms/spikes removed and have the job finished
Final Business Response /* (4000, 23, 2015/08/28) */
We would be more then happy to come out and remove the forms and steal steaksWe have asked to come out several times *** stated that we are not allowed on the property unless she is thereWhen we did the work she left hate open so that we could access the patio without her being thereIf there is any issues with the product we can repair but there is no reason to tear out the patio there was an area that was an overlay per *** request and that was done while the concrete truck was there but she was not charged for the extra work including the concrete that was removed which was supposed to be a monolithic thickened edge and ended up being ft thick in some areas when the standard is 4-inchesWe are currently booked out and we could come after work or when we're in the area so that I wouldn't have to reschedule her so far out I'd love to get this done asapI have projects in the area but we would need her to be flexible with the scheduleMeaning if we could swing by during down time we can take care of her complaints but she would have to give us permission to enter the yardAlso her daughter and her slandered us on social media, so it would be best just to let us access her complaint and then select the best course of actionShe can call at anytime or send text messages or email all of which she has if not my email is ***@yahoo.com and number XXX-XXX-XXXX or XXX-XXX-XXXX

have made several attempts to contact the [redacted] and [redacted].  13 areas were not patched as discussed the technique used when we stamp concrete is to come back through with grinder and clean any goup marks. The patio in the front had not been completed due to the customer leaving town and stating they would call us when they returned to chine back out  and seal the front.  The sprinkler that was moved per [redacted] ' s request widening sidewalk we also put a drain systemin.  We made several attempts to contact them and awaited response to finish final coat of sealer down.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: What they responded with is an OUTRIGHT LIE !!  We never left town and they have never tried to contact us.  I have attached a spreadsheet that details our interactions with Artistic Concrete Flooring and a copy of the text messages that went back and forth.  In addition, I am attaching some photos that will show the horrendous job they did with this concrete project.  The only items they completed with the drain was digging the trench and puncturing a 3-inch gash in the main sprinkler water line.  One of their workers laid a black hose in the trench and that is ALL THEY COMPLETED.  We moved the sprinkler head they tried to pull over, fixed the gash in the main sprinkler line, attached the black hose to the PVC pipe and filled the trench in.  We sent [redacted] a text on 7/15/15 after not hearing from them in 4 weeks with 2 options: Refund us the $5300 OR we will file a complaint with the Revdex.com and will sue them in small claims court for $5300 and court costs.  We gave them 48 hours to respond and if we did not hear from them, we would proceed with legal ramifications.  We never received a response from them on our text from 7/15/15.  Their blatant lies are outrageous and they continue to demonstrate no integrity to be a legitimate business.  In addition, I am attaching a proposal from another company who reviewed their job and identified the issues of the concrete pour and finishing job that speaks to the quality of work Artistic Concrete Flooring did.  We are willing to drop our compliant with the Revdex.com if they refund us $5300.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

[redacted] can you please contact us [redacted]. So we can discuss any issues you're having with your product or service. We are dedicated to providing you with a professional product. The amount that you listed is more than we charged you we would like to talk to you and see what the issue is

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/10/09) */
Upon meeting [redacted] and his wife the work was more than what the estimated which was description over the phone. An estimate is just that an estimated amount once viewing the project we gave them a quote of $3,000.00 because city's requirements...

higher psi concrete, traffic control and more leg work. [redacted] ' s wife was adamant about starting a soon as possible. I told her that I had application for permit for the city of [redacted] they also wanted additional 3 addresses of other city work which was not an issue this was on a Friday she told [redacted] via text message to cut out the concrete while waiting for permit to pour concrete. [redacted] obliged the request. After requesting permit left messages with the supervisor in the [redacted] city building and permit office. I went in to the office to see what was going on and was informed that they had signed a contract with another concrete contractor at the same time who had also applied for permit at the same time.Per the contract 50% deposit is required which was given then was asked not to cash it. I told her I would not do anything without a deposit as my time labor and materials use of equipment all cost money. We have a $1,500.00 minimum which we inform everyone of whether it be over the phone or in person. The concrete was saw cut as instructed. At that point no further work could be done as another contractor had a permit pulled for the work.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/10/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Artistic's reply contains at least 5 flat-out lies:
1. His estimate on the phone included doing the sidewalk (to city specifications including 4500 PSI) as we'd clearly stated. But upon visiting the site in person he said we'd only mentioned "gutter" (huh?) Then he said: "no problem, it's just going to cost $500 more, but I can get a permit with the city and do this job real soon anyway."
2. Although we were in a rush, we did not (could not!) request or authorize curb cutting without a permit. [redacted] promised to obtain one soon. We trusted Artistic to know and follow the rules. We were horrified when the city inspector complained to us afterward about the cutting being done without a permit, being done badly, leaving a mess (which we had to clean up), and on top of that, [redacted]'s attempt to bribe the inspector to let him finish the job without a permit.
3. Artistic never attempted to obtain a permit. In fact they COULD NOT because they were never registered with the city. Nor did they actually file a registration fee as told to us; apparently another lie to stall for time. We checked, and the city permit desk had received nothing from them but a phone message.
4. We never said anything about holding our deposit check. In fact they cashed it the same day.
5. A $1500 minimum was never stated. This is merely an attempt now to rationalize keeping our $1500 half-down deposit.
Furthermore:
- When it became clear Artistic was unable to perform as promised, [redacted] twice (on different days after doing the concrete cutting) offered to return our money to us. The second time we agreed, although reluctantly because we'd have to scramble to find someone else. Apparently this promise was also a lie. We would still settle for a simple refund of our deposit.
- We did not hire a replacement nor pull a permit until well after Artistic lied to us about getting registered with the city and then ceased communicating with us.
- The replacement contractor (already registered with the city) did competent work quickly, and for a total of just $1350. ([redacted]'s $3000 was pure extortion.)
- Finally, on several occasions Artistic promised to visit with us in person at the job site to show us city paperwork. "No problem, we're just five minutes away." We were stood up every time.
Unless Artistic promptly refunds our full $1500, we will continue to seek criminal and/or civil redress.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/11/10) */
1) I have a text message from Mrs. [redacted] with specific instructions on how to saw cut the area. I can provide proof of rental for the walk behind saw and the very expensive blade which alone put me over the 1500.00 minimum. Also there is fuel charge and administration cost please provide me with a valid email so I can send you the invoice for remaining expenses which I was willing to eat just to get away from these con artist. I've got witnesses to Mrs [redacted] asking me to hold the check which my response was I was not willing to do any work including application for permit without a deposit as I've spent over 5 days working on their project and I also have labor, fuel and overhead. The [redacted] breached contract leaving me with materials and labor I paid for. Please fill free to call and ask anyone or minimum we always state over the phone to eliminate wasting time for both us and the consumer.
