Artistic Pools Reviews (2)

Thank you for forwarding MrP***’ response to my Revdex.com complaint I would like to use this opportunity to respond to some of MrP***’ commentsI would like to first comment regarding the outstanding fees that MrP [redacted] mentions in his response to our complaint As I mentioned in our original complaint letter, we notified MrP [redacted] of the significant quality issues (color issues and extensive chipping) with the stamped concrete pool deck immediately after he completed it We even cancelled the final plastering of the pool so that MrP [redacted] could address these issues prior to proceeding further He agreed at the time that there were issues that needed corrected, but stated that he could address the color issues and extensive chipping after plastering the pool and prior to applying the final sealer to the concreteIt was because of the understanding that MrP [redacted] would fix the concrete deck issues after plastering that we allowed him to finish the pool installationHowever, after finishing the pool installation MrP [redacted] never addressed these issues The contract clearly states that “all work will be done in a good workmanlike manner” The stamped concrete deck that MrP [redacted] installed failed to meet this provision of the contractWe therefore withheld approximately 50% of the concrete deck cost only The remainder of the pool contract was paid in full I would next like to comment on the pictures that MrP [redacted] presented to you While these are pictures of the project, they are taken from a distance and do not allow the viewer to see the chipping and cracking of the concrete He also avoided photographing key areas where the color, stamping, and chipping issues are the greatest When I notified MrP [redacted] of the issues in writing, I sent him photos which accurately highlight the quality issues I have attached these and additional photographs to this response Most importantly, MrP [redacted] mentions in his response that several concrete experts have seen the pictures and felt that the job was “more than acceptable” Based on the fact that none of the experts actually saw the job in person and the fact that the pictures MrP [redacted] shared do not show the quality issues up close, their opinions are not relevant When I spoke with the color and stamp supplier MrP [redacted] mentions, he informed me that MrP [redacted] showed him pictures that were on his phone and that based on those pictures it was not possible to make a judgment of the quality of the deckAs mentioned in my original complaint, independent concrete contractors who inspected the job in person concluded that the job quality was unacceptable and that the only way to fix ALL of the quality issues would be to remove and replace the concrete MrP [redacted] states in his complaint that he offered to bring contractors on their time frames but I denied his request This is an outright lie I told MrP [redacted] that he was welcome to bring contractors but that I wanted to be at the house when they cameFurthermore, I offered several timeframes each week over the course of several weeks for him to bring contractors However, on only a single occasion between August when I sent him my complaint in writing and September when I filed my Revdex.com complaint, did MrP [redacted] offer to bring a contractor to our house He notified me on the evening of Monday August that he planned to bring a contractor the following morningI informed him that I could not get off work on that short of notice but offered an alternative time to meet that day Over the next few weeks, I provided times throughout the week that I was available yet he never tried to schedule a contractor againI would like to comment on the options that MrP [redacted] has provided to us to “make us happy” After meeting with us to discuss the quality issues on September 26, MrP [redacted] told us verbally that he would remove and replace a section of the deck where the color issues and chipping are the worst; and then address the remaining chipping issues and recolor the entire deck and walkway We told him that we would consider this option and he stated he would put this option in writing At that point he offered to come to our house the next day and take measurements for the winter coverTrusting that he was being honest and expecting him to follow through on his word, we allowed him to take measurements for the coverHowever, MrP [redacted] used the opportunity to take the above mentioned photos, show them to other concrete contractors and then rescind the offer to replace the section of concrete This shows that MrP [redacted] is completely untrustworthy and has no intention to do anything to make us happy He is only looking out for his best interest Finally, we arranged to have the color and stamp supplier meet with MrP [redacted] and us on October 13th to discuss options address the quality issues Several options were discussed that day but, approximately month later MrP [redacted] has yet to put anything in writingAt this point, MrP [redacted] has failed to put any options which fully address the quality issues in writing Furthermore, it has been over months since we first notified him and none of the quality issues have been addressedIn fact, the deck continues to chip away around the stamp borders, worsening the appearance (see example images)Despite having paid him for the balance of the pool installation, we have been forced to contract a third party to purchase and install a safety cover and to winterize our pool Because the pool cover and winterization were included in the pool contract (which we have paid) we will be forwarding the bill to MrP [redacted] and expect full reimbursementFurthermore, we will proceed on our own to contract a third party to remove and replace the concrete deck as recommended by multiple concrete expertsWe expect to be fully reimbursed by MrP [redacted] for the expense of removing the concrete and for the initial payment we gave him for the concrete We hope that MrP [redacted] will agree to these terms, so that we are not forced to take legal action However, we are fully prepared to take this step if necessaryWe completely regret our decision to work with MrP [redacted] and would never recommend that anyone do business with MrP*** Sincerely, [redacted]

I am writing in response to the above mentioned Revdex.com ID # from a complaint from [redacted] towards Artistic PoolsFirst and foremost Artistic Pools is VERY much willing to work with the [redacted] s to make them a happy and long lasting customerArtistic Pools feels that the [redacted] s have a very quality pool and concrete deckingIs it perfect? No, but there is always going to be some blemishes in any concrete and especially in any colored stamped concrete I am attaching pictures of the pool and the pool decking for your referenceI have spoken and shown pictures to the concrete supplier, concrete color and stamp supplier and highly respected concrete contractors with many years of stamp concrete experience and all agree that the job is MORE than acceptableI would like to go thru a few of the complaints: Color of concrete: The main pool deck looks very good in color and had one area where the loads of concrete came together and at first was darker in color and is expectedI told The [redacted] s to give it some time that the concrete was fresh and would match in color much closer and it hasPicture below: The 2nd color issue is where a sidewalk was poured approximately to days after the main pool deck.Although the exact same color dye was used and in the exact same proportion that concrete sidewalk does not match in color exactly to the pool deckAll color suppliers will tell you and have disclaimers that colors may not match exactly from truck to truck and on different daysEven regular concrete with no color mixed in will have different appearances when poured on different daysExample: Look at any driveway that has an addition added to it or replacement of part of driveway and the color does not match Stamping: Artistic Pools and professionals feel the concrete at [redacted] s is stamped to quality workmanship mannerThere is no way that out of in excess of mats being stamped into the concrete that every one will have the exact same degree of stampIt is inherent with the product and other professionals and suppliers will agree Timeliness: Everytime [redacted] has text, called or emailed I have responded in a reasonable time to him The [redacted] s have not paid in full for their pool and pool decks as stated in their complaintThe contract clearly states that Artisitic Pools has the right to suspend work and charge interest and re mobilization fees to finish any work once payment is madeThe [redacted] s have used their pool since June of this year without paying as outlined and agreed to in the conctractArtistic Pools owes The [redacted] s a winter cover and pool winterization and is very happy to do once balance would be paid in fullAlso, Artistic Pools has offered many solutions to the [redacted] s and the concrete to extent of performing more work to the concrete and staining concrete so that the color would match more evenly although Artistic Pools maintains it is an inherent property of the colored concreteArtistic Pools has tried to bring in other professionals to look at the job but could not meet the small time windows that the [redacted] s were offering to let them inspect the concreteIt is hard and disrespectful to other concrete professionals working to make a living to expect them to pull off their own jobs at exact times to inspect another job that is not theirs and especially with weather you don’t know exactly your schedule is going to beI told the [redacted] s I would happily meet the other professionals on their time frames and around their schedules so that they could offer their opinions of the quality of work outside of pictures but they denied that request Bottom line is Artistic Pools wants and is trying to come to resolution with the [redacted] s that they will be happy and enjoy their pool for many yearsWe have been in constant dialogue with each other recently and I have hopes that we will be able to come to a resolution that makes both parties happy Pictures are attached of the pool and pool deck Thanks, Robert P [redacted] Artistic Pools [redacted]
