Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] As I stated in my previous letter, he did look at the stepsin the spring Perhaps there was amiscommunication because the discoloration that I am concerned about is notnear the railings and therefore cannot be caused from rust in therailings Both the discoloration that Iam referring to and the flaking that I have mentioned increased significantlyafter his visit These are bothoccurring in places that are not affected by dripping water from the awning I asked him to reevaluate the steps but Inever saw him return to look at the steps a second time Another professional who looked at the stepsstated that there was not a proper brush finish on the steps As for the salt guard, it was my understanding that he was goingto return to put it on within days Iwas not told that he did not have any And was still expecting him to return This is a minor aspect of the work and issuesthat I am concerned withWhat I really want is to have the finish on the stepsrepaired and I can worry about a salt guard after that is taken care of Regards, [redacted] ***

+1

I went and looked at these steps in the spring, the discoloration is from her metal railings that were never painted so they are dripping rust on the new concrete, the other spots are from her awning, where the rain drips off onto the concrete, it has nothing to do with poor workmanship or is my responsibility what so ever, there is no "flaking" eitherI've been out to this lady's house several times in the last year and there is nothing wrong with the stepsAs far as the salt guard is concerned, that was added after the original contract was satisfied and was never charged for that work, I told her if I had some of that sealer I would apply it for free but after looking thru my inventory I did not have any so she would have to purchase the sealer

This all started with a complaint about the color of the steps fading, there is no color in the steps, it's plain concrete, then it went to "the concrete is rusting" which does not happen, it's from the railing not being painted, then there was discoloration on the landing which was from the rain dripping off the awning, the concrete work I did for mrs king was finished properly, was a 4000 psi concrete which is used for driveways and bridges so I know it will not just fall apart, when I looked at the job in the spring there was nothing wrong besides the discoloration which has nothing to do with me, the only thing that would ruin that concrete would using the wrong salt in the winter which I explained that there was a salt made for concrete and not to use calcium chloride, not even the salt guard can protect the concrete from that
