Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 15, 2016/10/18) */ To whom it may concern; I am sorry this response is so late, but I was out of town and needed to gather the information to respond to this matterOn February 17, [redacted] brought his car into our facility for repairThe vehicle was checked and found it needed a new control arm with ball joint which was installed (repairs reflected on the copy of invoice attached for reviewHe returned again on May 3rd, with the same complaintAfter the mechanic examined the car it was determined that the part we originally replaced was defectiveA new part was installed, under warranty, NO CHARGEWe have never heard from this customer sinceIf you refer to the bottom of our receipt, it states, "Parts & Labor have a DAY WARRANTY, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATEDThis particular part has a Year WarrantyAs I stated in the last paragraph, the customer NEVER contacted us about another problemI don't really know why this complaint was filed in the first placeThey had a repair, developed a problem which we fixed at NO Charge to themIf there was another issue they should bring it back in to us to be checked Thank you, [redacted] ***, Kar Service, Inc Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 17, 2016/10/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) they ripped me off with a defective part and telling me I needed an alignment I took it to my mechanic who told me I had a cheap ball joint installed by Kar and I had also talked to a few people who experienced the same crappy service from KarsThe 1st time I took it kars to get it replaced, then brought it back as it was their [redacted] part that crapped out and so I took it to complete auto who said their ball joint wa cheap why bring it back again ? I dont accept their response I want my money refunded [redacted] ***

I am so sorry I did not respond to this soonerI was out of town and was not able to gather the proper information in order to respond until now
On March 17th Mr*** brought his car in for repair
complaining of "Noise while driving — Whistle, on deceleration"He asked for a full inspectionAfter inspection the technician found items that needed replacement, and the necessary parts were replacedThe coolant was also found to be significantly deterioratedA coolant flush was recommended and performedThe customer was quoted a price for all the workHe agreed to the price, signed the invoice and, as you can see, paid for the work in cashNo problems or complaintsNo radiator leaks when the job left the shop
Customer returned on March 25th with a coolant leakThe technician then pressure tested the system and the radiator was found to be defectiveThe customer was told that because he was felt the leak was caused by the other work performed, the shop would cover the cost of installing a new radiator and he would pay for the partAgain, we quoted the price of the job to the customer; he agreed to the price, signed the invoice and paid cash for the part & tax, ONLYThe job was completed and he took the car with him
Customer called on the following day and said he was losing coolant and needed to bring the car back in to be seen by the technicianThe technician found a leaking heater hose on the engine, which is not connected to the radiatorThe hose was replaced; coolant was topped off with fresh anti-freezeAll this at NO CHARGE to the customerWhen he left he asked if re-imburse him for the money spent on the tow would and the manager said, "You said you were bringing the vehicle back, you never mentioned having the car towed inWe own our own
tow truck, and would have picked it up if it was not drivable." It was the owner's choice to have the car towed
During an inspection technicians can only repair what is broken at the time of the inspectionNo one can see "future leaks or breaks" in the system
As far as the cost of the part (radiator), we purchase quality, guaranteed parts from companies the guarantee and stand behind these parts and our laborThe customer was given a price quote for the radiator and agreed to this price before the installation

He returned again on May 3rd, 2016 with the same complaint. After the mechanic examined the car it was determined that the part we originally replaced was defective. A new part was installed, under warranty, NO CHARGE. We have never heard from this customer since. If you refer to the bottom of our receipt, it states, "Parts & Labor have a 90 DAY WARRANTY, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. This particular part has a 1 Year Warranty. As I stated in the last paragraph, the customer NEVER contacted us about another problem. I don't really know why this complaint was filed in the first place. They had a repair, developed a problem which we fixed at NO Charge to them. If there was another issue they should bring it back in to us to be checked.
