A&S Dance Club Reviews (3)
Review: The company failed to honor more than a couple of agreements, and after I paid in full for services, the manager called me days before my event at her location threatening to cancel my party if I did not make an additional payment for services I did not desire. I had no choice but to pay for chair covers I did not want in order to have my party that was in less than a week.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the additional charges that were made after I had already paid in full for my event and services.
I a m writing today to respond to the notice I received a few days ago relating to the above mentioned ID number. I have attached a copy of a summons we received from the civil court in Kings County index #[redacted]. There is a court date scheduled for December *, 2013 at 9:30am. We plan on attending that court date and defending the signed contract we had with this family.
This particular family visited the office and agreed to and signed a contract for 75 guests for a surprise party on July **, 2013. The signed contract also included an additional amount of $480.00 for 75 beige chair covers and sashes. On July [redacted] they came to the office to add additional guests to their final count and also
pay their final balance. Upon learning of the additional cost for the extra guests chair covers and sashes they wanted to change the original signed contract and remove the chair covers completely from the amount due. It was explained that the order for the chair covers and special sashes had already been placed and it could not be canceled. The $588.00 amount is the exact total for the seat covers and sashes based on their final guest count. Please note that we did supply the family with the chair covers and sashes on the evening of their party July **, 2013
The family's statement to your office about the final cost for the party being $4324.00 is correct but that amount which is on the contract includes the cost of the chair covers and sashes. Please rest assured that we want to erase this issue as quickly as possible this coming December when we get the opportunity to defend ourselves in court with the signed contract in hand. We are sorry that this issue was brought up to your office but do understand your concerns.
Review: On July ** 2015, I went to Dance Hall International to find out more information about the space and the amenities. I met with the owner. I explained to her how I wasn't sure if I was going to throw the event just yet, due to uncertainty on the amount of people who would be able to go. She was persistent and said I could have 50 people if I wanted. I explained to her again, I wasn't sure if even 50 people would be able to go and I wanted to make sure before I spent the money. She told me that if I put the deposit down I had 3 days to think about it and retract. I then said "Ok so I have 3 days to get my refund?" She said, yes I had 3 days. I slept on it and also talked to family about it and called the owner the next day to let her know I had decided not to pursue the event. I was given the run around on the phone. I went in person and was given the excuse that I had just missed her or that she was not in. I called again during the week and a female picked up stating it was her answering service, which I later came to find out by her employees they didn't have one. They told me before 1pm all calls go directly to her cell phone. As the days went by I continued to get the run around and I explained my situation and didn't get the resolution, which was my refund. Unfortunately, I had to take this issue to court because she didn't deliver on what she stated. Now unfortunately I have to go through the legal process. She stated she was a reputable business but I learned this was not true. It is disappointing and frustrating.Desired Settlement: I would like her to deliver on her word which was giving me the refund/repairing the issue.
At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding A&S Dance Club has been taken to court and I decided to settle out of court after it becoming stressful and an overall disappointing experience. I hope it doesn't happen again to anyone else.
