ASAP Garage Door

I was contacted by my lead service that *** *** (the customer) had issues with her garage door openerSo I called customer and set up appointment.Once I arrived I introduced myself gave her my card.Ask her what seems to be the issue or issuesThe customer said that it has been making a
banging noise ever since she moved in.She also said that her neighbor had either done something with it or said his did the samr similar thing ,not exactly sure
As I always do, I have to give a complete inspection of the entire door system no matter what the customer says,because things are always what they seem and ,because it is the right thing to do,so I test several items on door.One of these are to first manually (moving the door up and down)to make sure that the weight of the door is correct and balanced.then I had the customer push the garage door opener button on the wall without the door connected to see what it does without the weightt of the door on it.
When going threw its down cycle it was fine,when I had the customer push button on wall for the up cycle it slammed into the safety stopThe customer said that's what it has been doing ever since I moved hereI said ok ,this should not take long,it's seems that the travel up is offI told her it will be $to fix itShe said okOnce I got up on my ladder I noticed that on the part called the trolley there was a bolt missing (which is where she said I didn't have the part)came from ,I thinkSo I took off the cover of the operator saw that the up travel screw wasn't even connected.now the travel settings on this operator are on a big gear in the rear of this operatorNow picture a timer that you plug in Christmas lights up to , a round gear with teeth all the way around it and it comes with two little stoppersOne is put on the time you want the lights to come on and the other is placed on the time you want them turned off, now the difference between that and the travel settings is that there is no markings on that you can place the open and close anywhereThere is no markings to go by,So I had to run the operator approximately 4cycles,cycles to find the right place to put it on the gear,and to do a final test to make sure it work properly.and the last time to show the customer when completedNow during this I had knocked on customers door to explain each and everything that I was doing,basically attempting to keep her in the loop of what was going onNow during this time after the first cycle when I just started to set the travel up,I smelled a burning smellI had stopped and had told her that,and had also added that I don't carry parts for that brand of operator on my vehicleSo maybe that's where she may have said that partI even replaced the missing bolt and nut missing from the trolley that she didn't even know aboutSo I finished the job,I never smelled that burning noise again and fixed everything,showed her that it work and while she was writing out the check for $dollars I told her that I was worried about it and if anything to call me She seemed happyNow when I was pulling out of the apartment complex main entrance there was another garage door repair truck pulling in,I know because it said it all over itHe even waved at meNow this complex is all by itself,and there might be units in there topsBecause I was telling her about all these things,the first thing was that she may have called another company while I was still there,because I was there for about an hour.what are the chances that he wasn't going verse notSo about an hour goes by and the customer calls me up and said that the door was not fixedSo I came back and when you hit the wall button all it did was make a clicking soundSo I was very upset that I didn't have anything to replace it at all on my vehicle,it was the last call of the day and I had used my operator that I carry on my vehicle already that daySo I gave her options, one I offered her to get a second opinion,two that she can purchase a new unit at any home improvement store and I will but it in for free,because I couldn't fix it(I thought) option that she could purchase a new unit from me for my price and I would put it up .and the final one was I am friends with my competitors and I know one that has her type and model of operator.Because he specializes in that brandSo I offered to call him up ,she seemed kinda upset and declined all optionsI again felt bad and she seemed a little irritated,so I said if you get someone out here and they tell you something different then what I did,I can refund your money.She said okSo then about 2hrs later she calls me up and said that someone was out there and fixed her problem and it was only ten dollars, I know a lot of home service companies,and NONE OF THEM CHARGE DOLLARS,maybe the part costs that muchIt could be true if you are friends with them, but that seems to be not correctSo she said nothing about getting her money back nor did I because I truly did fix what she was wanting fixed and then some.I even had given a discount and it's on the receipt.So the customer was apparently upset enough to write incorrect statement saying I was taking advantage of her ?? How is that? I normally charged $just to show up and do what I did at this customer home.if you look at all my reviews on homeadvisor.com under ASAP GARAGE DOORS I promise you will see words like,TRUSTWORTHY,HONEST,FAIR PRICING,PROFESSIONALIf anyone wants copies I will provideThe customer said she was a school teacher at the beginning,and that she lived with her sister and I had also ask her in the beginning if she had a possible budget for this,she then told me that she was a school teacher and was on a fixed income,so how can I take advantage of that? That's the whole reason it was $DOLLARS.
Now a few days ago I get a call from the Revdex.com saying that I had this statement that I have a chance to respond toWell this is my response, I am very upset that someone would ever say something like that about me ,and to try and dishonor all my values and discredit meI am a single father of a year old daughter.I started this self small business to be able to treat customer right,and be able to spend time with my daughter,and grow this BUSINESS Hopefully paying all bills that I and everyone else has to ,to surviveI feel that these statements that are directed to me about me are completely wrong and very upsetting to MeI also think that the customer may have completely miss read me and mis understoodBecause I have been told that beforeSo I called the customer ASAP when I found out and ask for what would make her happy,and explained to her that I am not that person that you are saying these offal things aboutShe said that she would take the money back,and that she did misunderstand meSo I will be on on August 7,getting a money order and placing it personally to her front doorI would hope that she removes these terrible blunt lies away.
I personally feel like,and I said this to customer,that I try so hard at pleasing all my customers,and we all know even as a school teacher,you can't please all the students no matter how hard you try,same goes for customers.
