ASAP Towing & Recovery Reviews (28)

Buyer received a mutually agreed upon refund and has been satisfied.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
Hello,I want to close this complaint as satisfied.  The company gave me a refund. Thanks,[redacted]  Regards,

The rules that this complaint are attempting to address are State of California rules that all tow companies must comply with. Proper Identification and proper business hours must be adhered to. That the complainant was under age nor experienced to read contracts is not the issue of the company nor the practices of the State of California.

Insurance carriers allow for a maximum amount of miles and, in most cases, will only allow certain dealerships to be used. This is an issue with dealerships. Not all customer service attendants at dealerships are aware of which insurance companies they are allowed to accept. Most dealerships rely...

upon appointments being made ahead of time to make sure that they can accept a customer’s vehicle. In this case, an attempt was made to deliver the vehicle per the customer’s request. Vehicle was not accepted by dealership, most likely due to no appointment being made. ASAP took the vehicle to the next closest dealership to facilitate customer not being charged additional mileage and accruing additional costs.

Excellent service! I had another tow company out here 2 weeks ago. The man was dismissive and refused to listen to what I was saying about my own car. As a young woman this felt belittling. I had to resort to calling my father to speak to the guy. Finally I just told him he could leave and I refused to let him tow my car. Due to my busy schedule I had to wait two weeks before I could get someone else out here to jump my car. The owner of ASAP came out very promptly. He was patient and professional. I was impressed with his knowledge of my car's potential security measures. Great experience overall!

BEWARE!! If these clowns damage your car you are in for a long, long struggle to get them to pay for the damage! It will require persistence, determination and an optimistic attitude that in the end, JUSTICE will prevail! (If you have to take ASAP to court the Nolo Guide to California Small Claims Court is an excellent resource.) Be sure to document everything -- take photos, keep repair bills and document all telephone conversations. A tape recorder might be a good idea. After ASAP damaged my truck I dealt with [redacted] who at least was polite when encountered in person. I was next referred to the invisible [redacted] (who "handles" damages) but [redacted] never answered his phone and never returned my messages. At the end of my month-long struggle -- thank God, the END! May I never ever again deal with ASAP!! -- I dealt with [redacted] (the "supervisor") who was usually "out" or "in a meeting." [redacted] made me wait three hours before he finally wrote me a check and was in person one of the rudest nastiest people I've ever met! [redacted] was not unapologetic about me having to wait three hours while he was "in class" but said I "should have come the day before!" (I telephoned the day before and was told [redacted] was"out" and to come pick up the check the next day.) [redacted] offered to mail the check....HAH! I knew the check would never come in the mail because [redacted] would never sign it. THE END. Total number of days consumed by all this -- 38 days. Total number of phone calls -- 22. Repair bill for damage done by ASAP Towing to my truck -- $130. SOME QUESTIONS -- are "[redacted]" and "[redacted]" the same person? Does "[redacted]" exist? Are all these people who work for the tow company attending "class" when one tries to reach them on the phone? What class? I am curious. POSTSCRIPT -- "[redacted]" told me on the phone that the driver admitted the damage was his fault but [redacted] told me the next day the driver (who had four children) said the damage was not his fault. [redacted] said I would lose if I went to court but ASAP was going to write me a check anyway. (Just to be nice, I guess.) By the way, the driver who did the damage (( met him only once, on the day he towed my truck).was very polite and nice. Everybody makes mistakes. I'm sorry he works for such a dreadful company.

Review: State Farm sent ASAP Towing to my apartment because my car was dead. They checked my battery, which I had purchased just one week ago. They told me the battery was completely dead. They had a new battery with them, they sold it to me and replaced the one I had just purchased. I then drove over to Firestone where I had purchased the original battery one week ago. On the way over my car stalled several times. I explained to Firestone what had occurred with ASAP Towing and they checked the battery they had sold to me. They showed me the print out which showed that the test resulted in a fully charged battery. It was not dead like I was told by ASAP Towing. I then called State Farm and they sent ASAP Towing again to tow my car to the Subaru Dealership. The driver refused to take the battery I had just purchased from them and issue me a refund. I called ASAP Towing and they also refused to take the battery back and give me a refund. I told them I had purchased the battery they sold me based on their report that my new battery purchased at Firestone was dead. Since that was not true, I told them they sold me the battery under false pretenses and they needed to take the battery back and give me a refund. They refused and told me I had to return the battery to the manufacturer under the warranty even though the battery was only in my car for a couple of hours and there was nothing wrong with it under the warranty. They still refused to take the battery back and give me a refund. I then called State Farm to report this towing company and tell them what they had done by telling me my battery was dead and then sold me a new one. When I brought it to their attention that what they told me was incorrect, they still refused to take it back and refund my battery. So, I'm stuck with 2 brand new batteries because of their deceptive tactics.Desired Settlement: Take the battery back and refund my money.

Review: On 10SEP2015 I had a mechanical failure on my 2008 Honda CBR 600 and contacted my insurance company for a tow home. My insurance company roadside assistance department referred me to ASAP Towing. I paid ASAP Towing over the phone to come tow my bike home. After waiting several hours due to communication issues between ASAP Towing dispatch and the truck driver, I was finally relieved to see the driver arrive. The driver had me load my bike on the truck because he was afraid of dropping it, which I gladly did, because I also didn't want him dropping it. When he went to secure the motorcycle to the truck, he used ratchet straps, which when he tightened them down to improper locations, cracked my fairing plastics and right side headlight assembly. The driver tried to push the plastics back in place, causing further damage. I have pictures of the license plate of the truck as well as the damage. I contacted the company that night and they told me a manager would contact me in the morning. When I called the next day there was no manager available. After repeated calls I got a lady on the phone that asked for an estimate of repairs and pictures of the damages which I gladly provided. I can't ride my motorcycle until I get it fixed and cannot afford to fix the broken headlight and plastics in addition to the mechanical failures. Request an update in status for the status of my claim.Desired Settlement: Request company repair damages to my vehicle caused by a negligent tow driver operating under their employment.
