On Sunday (October 15,2017), I inquire an airline tickets for 2 going to Philippines with ASAP TRAVEL AND TOURS and spoke with ***, the owner. She gave me a price of $2,000 each passenger for December 17, 2017; I find it pricey but she said to get it because prices will go up in the coming days. She asked for a $1,000 deposit to hold the seats and mentioned that it's refundable! I wired transfer the money on the same day in the evening and she got it at around 8pm.
The next morning (October 16,2017, Monday), I called her that I want to cancel my bookings. She refused to cancel it for her unreasonable excuses; (our informations are already submitted to the airlines, her credit card is already used for bookings, it's been booked, tickets are ready for pick up). I know, I have the right to cancel any bookings within 24 hours without any extra charge (I've done it before). She insisted that I cannot get the $1,000 deposit. And also, she was so rude; she hanged up the phone on me many times.
She didn't give me back the money; I was caught and no choice but to get the tickets for me to find out that it was not actually booked yet. Tickets were issued after almost 1 hour of waiting in their office.
This is a complaint that has to be looked at because she has no right to HOLD or FORCE anyone to get or purchase an airline ticket from her agency the way she wanted it.

Our apologies for the misunderstanding, this $1000.00 deposit ( a.k.a. earnest money) is not solely to hold seats, it's mainly to hold the price agreed upon. To translate, when a price fluctuation occurs after an agreement, there will be no change to the client pricing at all regardless. As prices are more likely to increase in these peak season dates, we are exposed to a probable loss from when the price increases. It just so happens that in this scenario the airline price made an unusual downturn of approximately $55.00 each ticket. This perhaps explains the clients reaction, yet it doesn't warrant their accusation, claim and even slander in accordance with my former statement.
In addition, this is an agreement between adults who can make their own decisions whether wise or not, no arm twisting was carried out. That said the emphatic phrase " Hold and Force to purchase ticket " and more, are absurd and only suggest a libel, so I strongly recommend that they please refrain.
