Be careful out there!
Went into hospital to have a hysterectomy. Ended up with amnesia for a complete day, bruised ribs and swollen feet and legs. Surgery was done on 8-13-21 and it is now 10-9-21 and my condition has not improved. I was not told that one of the side effects of drugs I was put to sleep with would be amnesia. Scary. Ribs were damaged by someone carelessly pulling straps too tight. Doctor's answer was " I didn't do it". My question was who was in charge of keeping the patient safe during surgery. She had no answer. She also gave me pain meds that she knew I couldn't take without getting sick. I lost 10 pounds after surgery. My gut is still messed up. Doctors didn't seem concerned. Dr. Harris and Dr. Boger. They just don't care. Also contacted Patient relations from that hospital and was told that " Things just happen during surgery". Not their fault. Not Doctors faults either. Whose fault was all this? I guess my fault for choosing this hospital and these doctors. Be careful out there!

It sounds like your anesthesiologist needs to explain to a Lawyer what happen. Chest brushed and hurting and that many problems, Anesthesia, your Doctor and everyone else in that room needs to explain what happen. Sounds like you had a cardiac arrest and chest precautions where done. Surprised you didn’t have broken ribs. Sorry to hear this and hope what took place was corrected and someone is without a job and profession. God Bless and may he continue to watch over you.

Surgery from Hell
I had a hysterectomy at St Vincent's in Evansville on 8-13-21. Was put out with an drug that caused me to have amnesia from the beginning of the procedure at 7 in the morning until 10 that night. No memory of coming out of surgery, leaving hospital and coming home. My memory of this time is gone. Was not told by the doctors this might happen. Still have pain in ribs on both sides from straps being tightened way too much. I am 75 years old. They did not have to worry about me running away. Had an X-ray. Not a fracture. Was told by a nurse they are contusions. Bruises which hurt as much as fractures and take as long to heal. Am still in pain. The doctor's answer to me was. " I didn't tighten the straps." My legs and feet swelled up after the surgery and are still painful and swollen. Can hardly walk. Doctor says just elevate my feet. Talked to someone from "patient relations" from the hospital. She said 'things happen during surgery". Not our fault. Doctors say also not their fault. Whose fault is it? Mine for chosing those doctors and that hospital? Stay away from that place. My advice.

ER neglect of initial care
My 73 year old sister has been falling recently and is confused. I convinced her to go to St.Vincent to be checked out. “They will help us figure this out” she has a skin condition I believe they looked at her and made an assumption. She never received a wrist band, blood work was done , no CT scan, said wouldn’t show anything! Sent her home. Against our wishes and ask for more testing. Primary Dr. contacted said there is something wrong, this is not her normal and she does need CT of brain . Thanks Ascension 😡

I made a pmt. to St.Vincent Hosp. and then found my insurance was going to pay it. Now they won't refund my money for 3-4 mths, because they are behin
I made an online pmt to St. Vincent's Hospital on 7/2/18 and then got an EOB from my insurance company, the same day, showing that they were going to pay it all. I immediately called and tried to get a refund. They told me they had sent out duplicate bills in error to several of their patients and were behind refunding those patients their money. Said it could be 3-4 months before I get a refund. I have asked to escalate my refund, as I have another medical bill that I need to pay, and they refuse to push my refund through. I have called several times to talk to a supervisor and finally got a call back today. She basically told me the same thing...that they made a mistake and it created more work so they couldn't get my refund any sooner.AND...that there were people who had bigger refunds coming who had been waiting longer than I had. So they double billed some people and are collecting interest off of the money they are refusing to refund immediately. As of today, 7/23/18, I still do not have a refund.

Desired Outcome

Refunds should be made within 2 weeks of the posting.I would like to have my refund by the last day of July.

I did receive my refund. It took much longer than it should have and I feel that it wouldn't have happened that soon, if it was the contact from the Revdex.com.

Thank you.
