Ascension Via Christi Home Medical in Wichita

On April 27, I mailed a check to the address on the billing statement that I received. That check cleared on May 30. I received a notice that it had not been paid and was late. I called billing and was informed that I needed to send proof of payment to CSU physicianbilling@ R1rcm.com which I did. I sent a picture of the canceled check on my bank statement. I got an automated email back saying they received it and to give them five business days to review it. That was in June. I hadn’t heard anything back so I called billing again and it still had not been credited to my account so I resent proof of payment on July 21, 2026. I received another email stating that I owed that money. I called the billing department and was told by Ann there had been an update on August 7 and they needed a copy of the back of the check also. I did NOT receive an email requesting that. I picked up a copy of my check from my bank and sent that on August 18, 2026. I never received a confirmation email so I resent it again today August 19, 2026. Still waiting on a confirmation email.I have been turned over to a debt collection agency over this bill I don’t owe. . I also sent the dept collection agency pictures of the proof of payment. During this time I have also mailed two other checks to pay two other bills. One was mailed May 27th and one mailed June 29th. It’s August 20th and those checks still have not cleared my bank. I’m still getting notices that I owe these bills. I don’t know if they’ve lost them there but it’s doubtful that both of those have been lost in the mail especially since they were mailed a month apart. After calling billing and talking to Christine, I was told to try a different address. The address I had sent them to was a return address on my Ascension billing to Oaks, Pennsylvania. There is no other address on this bill to send a check to. It’s also the address I sent the first payment to that finally cleared on June 30. Today August 20, 2026 if the other checks haven’t cleared my bank I’m canceling payment on them and sending another check to cover both of those bills to this other address I was given from Christine. After talking to my bank, I was told that they’ve had several other customers with the same issue. This is incompetence on the billing departments side and puts a lot of stress on someone that is already stressed with dealing with illnesses out of their control. Especially when the bills are being paid and not getting credited to there accounts.

Via Christi sent a bill to collection in ***. This was paid off *** via payment plan, details provided to collection agency.
Received a bill for Dr visit on *** several months after the visit. Called billing department and made arrangements to pay of over a period of 4 months starting in ***. These were paid. Since *** when the last payment was made they have not sent a single bill related to this or notice indicating they thought this was not settled. Over 14 months later, 2 years after this visit they send it to a collection company. I provided the collection company with my payment details provided to Via Christi regarding this.
