Thank you for your message.  I've read the complaint and am concerned as this is the first I'm hearing of this.  I do take CAN SPAM very seriously and have checked internally regarding this complaint.  ...

While I could not identify anyone who spoke to [redacted] on the phone, I can confirm that all email addresses on our list are received from Cision and Vocus.  When signing up for these sites, media and bloggers give permission to be contacted by pr agencies.  If our client activity is not useful to Ms. [redacted] blog, then we certainly will remove her from our database.
A similar case happened several months ago and we were able to determine that there was another email address on our list, which had a "forward" to an address we had removed from our database.  So while we had removed the reported email address, it was another email address presenting the problem.  Given that, please find the proposed solution below:
Solution
Please provide all email addresses that should be removed from our databases so that we can make sure she's been removed.
To Ms. [redacted]:  Please accept my personal apology and we will get this remedied ASAP.  Thank you.

Revdex.com Case # [redacted]
I did respond to this email over a week ago, two days after receiving it. I explained in detail what I thought the problem might be. I checked into the system at that time and noticed that it did not show that [redacted] had received 20 press releases per day. The unsubscribe...

links from the releases he had received at that email address were not broken. We are fully Can the Spam compliant and each press release distributed contains an unsubscribe link and our full contact information. For [redacted] to say that he was unable to unsubscribe caused me concern since I could clearly see the links weren’t broken. I researched this further.
Having discussed the problem with our IT department, I realize that it is possible that the system could contain a different email address, or addresses for [redacted]. Perhaps one(s) that [redacted] had used previously, possibly with a former employer or even just a different personal email address that he may have (at some point) put on forward to receive emails at his current email address. I am not certain that this is the problem but it is very possible. For example, sometimes employers will have their webmasters redirect email addresses to new employees to prevent losing important email, versus just deleting the email address. The email “looks” as though it is being received at that person’s email address, but it was set up in the system whereas the old email address does not show. In these cases, the new email address will receive all mail that the previous employee(s) had opted into.
I did removed [redacted] current email address from our system a week ago. If he has continued to receive press releases this past week, then there must be another email address involved, in which case we would need to obtain that one to make sure that it is also removed from the system, promptly.
I do sincerely apologize to [redacted] for the inconvenience this has caused, and can imagine the frustration he feels. I hope that the problem is resolved and would be more than happy to discuss this with him via telephone if he would like to.
Kind Regards,
[redacted]
