Review: On January 27, 2014 I took my husbands suit to Ashburn cleaners located in the [redacted] shopping center in Ashburn, VA. I told the person at the counter I wanted them to press the suit but not wash it. She made a note of it, told me to come back in 5 days and it should be ready. So I went back to Ashburn Cleaners on February 4, 2014 to pick up the suit and the first thing I noticed was the side of the coat had been damaged. I then asked a the lady at the counter that day who wasnt the same the day I dropped it off why they had damaged my husbands suit. Very robotically she answered by saying the coat was like that when I dropped it off. I asked her how she could know that because she was not the person who took it from me when I dropped it off and the person who initially took the suit from me didnt not any damages or defects with the suit. It is their policy to inform the customers if something is missing or damaged so we are aware of it before we give them the responsibility. I asked to speak with the manager of the store and she told me the manager comes in tomorrow.I went back the next day to Ashburn Cleaners and explained my situation to a different representative and almost formulaically she gave the same response as the person the day before and refund . It was as if they were trained and memorized a certain script to deny the request and blame the customer instead. The manager wasnt there at that time so I left my phone number and asked the manager to call me. After the manager had called and left a message, I called her back and explained to her what had happened when I brought my husbands suit to her dry-cleaning and it was no coincidence that she had the same response down to every word. I told her it was a new suit and had only been worn a few times and I was certain there was no damage done to it, and even her own employee didnt document anything wrong with the suit when I handed it to her. But she continued to blame me again and again. The purpose of this letter is that I not only want to be compensated for my damaged suit, but I want to hold Ashburn Cleaning accountable for their actions. I feel as if they are doing this to their customers with no repercussions and at every issue that occurs they deny, deny, deny and blame the customer. I feel as if I have to take the next step in this process which is legal action which I made the manager aware of when she was not being cooperative. She said back to me in a very snobby way to go ahead and her husband knows what to do in court and theyll see me there. A customer should not be mistreated and abused by corporations because they feel as if they have more power. I feel hurt that they would do something like this to their customers and I dont want others to experience the unprofessionalism and abuse I have taken.
