I moved out from this apartment May of This apartment has my work email address that they have never had a problem communicating to me through and my physical mail was forwarded to my new address for months after I moved out It was custom for the apartment to send billing statements through the physical mail I drop off my keys in person on my way out and verified that they didn't need anything further from me and they said they knew how to contact me if need be I NEVER received a final statement from the apartment, not to my email or my physical mail, and because I spent a good week cleaning my apartment before move out, I thought that seemed correct December comes and I get a call from what I can only assume is a scam collection company, [redacted] , employed by Ashford Belmar I am sure, stating that I owe Ashford Belmar money Again NEVER received a final bill from Ashford Belmar Not in May Not in June Not in July, etc No phone call either

I have been very disappointed with the way I have been treated by Ashford BelmarFirst, they allowed me to move into an apartment that wasn’t finished being updatedThey said they would have it cleaned and ready to go – when I moved in it was still filled with dust, broken stairs, unfinished trim, etcI documented everything and submitted it to Ashford Belmar as I did not want to be held accountable for these things when I leftAll the appliances have also been shoddy and replaced or fixed multiple timesAfter all of these instances, Ashford Belmar finally offered to let me leave without having to pay any leave feesIt took me time to find another place to live, and they were not transparent that there was any sort of deadline associated with my leaveWhen I told them I was ready to leave and gave my notice, they said they could not accept it because it was passed the deadlineHowever, no deadline was ever made explicit to me!

After paying a non-refundable pet fee and cleaning fee (as part of our deposit), Ashford Belmar is attempting to charge my roommate and I an additional $for a cleaning fee for move out on top of not refunding any of our refundable depositThis is absurd since 1) We already paid for cleaning fees as part of our deposit2) They are citing "nail holes in the drywall" as part of the reason for this chargeWe specifically asked one of the agents if we could get dinged for this and they said no! 3) There is no feasible way that a cleaning fee (especially given the cleaning procedure we went through) could cost $PLUS our refundable deposit (around $1,000) This type of behavior is unfortunately business as usual for Ashford Belmar as once again they have shown that they do not care AT ALL about customer service but instead they value charges, fees and poor customer service

I moved out of Ashfor Belmar on November 14th, Today, on November 9th, 2017, I received a letter from *** ***, which is a collection agency, that Ashford Belmar had reported an alleged delinquency for $I immediately called the *** ***, where the representative confirmed that this alleged delinquency had been reported to them within the last week for unpaid move-out feesI immediately located my documentation that I paid the $bill for move-out fees, and also contacted my bank to confirm that my $check was debited from my account on November 30th, I have copies of my statement that this amount was successfully debited form my account, and of the check, where the subject line states "move-out fees," which I gave to Ashford Belmar in their officeI am extremely concerned that my credit may impacted by this referral to a collections agency

We parked in a street spot with parking lines and no signs saying who's property the spot was onOur complex backs up to the Ashford and parking is an issue and most marked spots have a tow warning, these spots did notMy boyfriend was late to work and had to pay a $fine to get his car back

First off, I wish I could also add "customer service" and "contract issues" to this list
Ashford Belmar collected a pet fee and a security deposit (which both included in-part a"non-refundable" cleaning fee)Upon inquiring about when I'd be receiving my security deposit, they told me that they are charging an additional $for the cleaning feesI already paid cleaning fees and pet fees to use towards the move out clean, and now they are trying to bite my wallet's jugularThis is shady and not at all what they told me at the time of the lease signing
