Although we have no record of this member contacting us regarding this matter, we are glad for the opportunity to bring the matter to a positive solutionOur investigation showed:
A Good Housekeeping MAGA (GH) debit, in the amount of $19.97,
hit member's account on 3/21/taking her account balance negativeWe did not authorize that debit, we believe the member didIt was this transaction, not the $fee that took her account negative
Our credit union offers a Curtesy Pay (CP) service to members who choose that service by signing an Oform evidencing their choiceOur CP service serves as an overdraft protection service allowing us, for a fee of $per overdraft, to pay such overdrawn amounts on the member's behalf, up to a certain limitCP protects the member from being charged a fee by the recipient of the check or debit as well as the embarrassment from a Not Sufficient Funds (NSF) transaction
Our investigation into this situation shows we are unable to locate a signed "Opt-In" form for this member in our filesOn that basis we should not have extended the CP service nor charged her that CP feeTherefore, will be return that fee to her account as of 5/12/
In resolution of this situation we will return the $fee to her account and cease her CP service until such time as the member might chose to Oto the CP service
Of course we will also forward a copy of that letter to Revdex.com of Akron for your records
