I have had many positive experiences with Ashland Ford Chrysler since I moved to the area a couple of years ago. Their service work is always timely and correct and their customer service is top of the line. When it came time to purchase a new vehicle this winter I went straight to them. I knew my credit would be challenging, but the sales person and management took it in stride and were able to walk me through the process without a hitch and in a timely manner. Now I enjoy driving my new-to-me Ford Escape. Thanks Ashland Ford Chrysler!

Review: Ashland Ford Chrysler is an unprofessional and slimy dealership. My fiance and I regretfully purchased a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee in December of 2014 from them. From the beginning, the dealership never made one call to us, we had to call and set up all visits, as about anything, and wait weeks for them to find anything that would work for our limited credit eligibility. Before we saw the Jeep, they said that the vehicle was being loaned to a girl who had her car being serviced (this was a two week span) and a separate time they said that she lived on a hill in Bayfield, WI and that was the only vehicle they could loan her! Then when we finally got to see the vehicle, it was in the service area freshly washed and "staged" for us (oddly in the service bay). First, I noticed that there was a cracked mirror (they fixed that). We wanted to test drive the vehicle that day, but our sales man, [redacted] Darwin said the seats were wet since they'd just been cleaned, but they we not really wet. He said that he had drove it and it drove fine. After all the time we waited to see the vehicle, [redacted] stated that if we didn't come up with a down payment within a week that the vehicle would be gone and the we'd have to start the process all over. I asked [redacted] if he met the previous owners, he said that it was an older couple that lived just outside of Ashland, that nothing was wrong with the vehicle and they traded it in for a smaller vehicle, which at the time was believable, but when we were signing papers and said that [redacted] said they were an older couple, the guy helping us with papers, [redacted] (Owner/Operator), paused and got a weird questioning look on his face and said, "ya, I think I remember." We bought the Jeep for just under $14,000 with what we were told had just over 70,000 miles on it.

Just a month after purchasing the Jeep the radiator had a leak (turns out the car's front end was bent in and that "stop leak" was put in the radiator prior to us having it). The radiator was over $200 and the bend in the car was covered by the plastic fan guard under the hood. Later in the summer of 2015, we were struggling making payments on the Jeep and since the Jeep didn't have the best MPGs, we were trying to trade it in for a more efficient AWD vehicle. Since our experience was less than satisfactory at Ashland Ford Chrysler, we tried going to Ashland Toyota. In the process of getting a trade in value, the people at Ashland Toyota pulled up the CarFax on our Jeep (something we never even thought of and were not told about at Ashland Ford Chrysler). In the process, it was found that the Jeep's odometer reading was illegally "rolled back" 8,000 miles (something [redacted] at Ashland Ford Chrysler claims he had no idea about and that it was probably the CarFax report's problem). I think that the people at Ashland Ford Chrysler knew about this when they sold the car and that they also temporarily fixed the radiator and front end damage to make a quick sale.

Since we were struggling with making payments, I called Ashland Ford Chrysler to ask them what to do if I needed to do a voluntary surrender. [redacted] (Owner/Operator) said that we needed to bring the vehicle to the dealership and that Chrysler Capital would pick it up there. So, I drove the Jeep to the dealership and made contact with Chrysler Capital. [redacted] said he'd do the same thing. Poor communication on Chrysler Capital's end, turns out that Chrysler Capital was never notified that the vehicle was still there even months after I dropped it off. All this time, I have been getting late charges and notifications of vehicle repossession from Chrysler Capital with the understanding that they had picked it up, so I called Chrysler Capital and asked them what was going on. Turns out, [redacted] never talked with Chrysler Capital, never gave me any calls saying that my Jeep was still sitting there all this time and that in the state of WI I needed to fill out forms to do voluntary surrender. So unprofessional!Desired Settlement: I feel like the dealership should have been more honest about the vehicle they were selling to us, that they should have told us the vehicle really had 8,000 more thousand miles on it and that they lied to us about it. I don't know what can possibly happen to benefit us since we fell for their tricks and now are stuck with things, but if there is anything possible to have happen I'd like to know. Also, I'd like there to be a record of the unprofessional dealership to warn others of the dangers. Since the dealership sold us a vehicle that was not what they advertised, I think they should try and make things right somehow. Would like Revdex.com representative to contact me and discuss. If they took the vehicle back and my credit could be restored that would be really great!
