I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The Business never said that 1 room was on the first floor, he said they are both on the second floor, as I remember he said 142 and 143.  I said we can not stay here because my sister in-law cannot climb stairs.  He was very unreasonable.regards,

Review: Three of us stayed at the Ashland Hotel in Ashland WI. The room plus tax was estimate $138.00 Two of us paid cash totaling $90. The third person paid the remainder of estimated of $48. We were in room number 18. The man behind the desk didn't give us the option to pay for the room at check out. We went to our room and it smelled disgusting. There was visible cobwebs hanging from the ceiling over the beds. There was old chipped paint that was sprayed with a substance. The room was dusty. The floor was dirty. It hadn't looked like it was even vacuumed. There was clearly visible crumbs underneath the baseboard heater what looked like chunks of dry dog food. Crumbs and used coffee stir sticks. The outside of the microwave looked like it had gotten coffee spilled on it at some point and no one cleaned it up. The fridge was dirty. The shower was gross. Upon inspection of the bedding the blankets were old and stained. One of the beds had a egg carton type foam padding on it that looked like it was 20 years old and was severley stained and dirty. We looked along the edge of the mattress seam and there was what looked like dirt or bed bug feces. We did find what looked like a bed bug shell. There was red little stains on it. There was visible dirt on mattresses underneath sheets. We had made an executive decision to leave after 20 minutes of being at this room. We told the man we had a family emergency and needed to leave and wanted our money back. He told us we couldnt have our money back because we booked online. We drove an hour away to another hotel that also reported bed bugs from this hotel. I emailed booking.com who I made the online reservation through and they contacted the owner and told them about the cercumstances and the owner said we could not get a refund due to late cancellation policy. I also contacted the health department as well.Desired Settlement: I would like a copy of the original cancellation policy. We spend 20 min in the room not even the night. I have a feeling he has had problems with unsanitary conditions in the past thats why he made us pay at check in. I would like our money refunded back based on "unsanitary conditions". I wouldnt pay anyone one to stay in this place! Or at least our gas money back for having to drive an hour out of our way to a different hotel because this room was disgusting.

Response:

Business states that consumer cannot be refunded, as she did stay in the motel. Also, the health department did come to inspect the rooms, and no bugs were found.

Review: So my wife and I had booked here for a weekend. Once we found other accomodations with a local friend my wife called and cancelled our reservation. We never thought twice about it till we received a charge from the motel. My wife called to speak to someone about how she had cancelled the reservation. A gentleman answered the phone and shortly into the conversation began to yell at my wife who was calm and trying to figure this out. The man told my wife that we was the only employee and the owner and that he can't cancel online bookings, which is unheard of. When my wife continued to try and speak with him he asked it she had a husband and to have him call....so he was sexist to boot. Another interesting fact of this is that he said we booked the room through booking.com which is not the case we went through priceline.com...I have the email to prove it. I tried to call and figure this mess out and he began to yell at me and give me the same stick about how he can't cancel anything like that. I told him that's ok I would be calling priceline and my bank, and reporting him...at which point he began to curse at me. When I called priceline I was told I had to call the motel about cancellations....which is contrary to what he told me. Whenever my wife and I have booked online and we need to cancel we always call the hotel/motel to do it so we know its ok since their the ones holding the reservation.Desired Settlement: I would like the charges to my credit card reversed, or a refund of the charged amount.

Response:

Business states that consumer has to cancel through priceline, as they booked through priceline. He does not have the ability to cancel/refund himself.

Review: My husband and I booked a motel room with the Ashland Motel for 2 nights @ $119.99 per night online through Booking.com. The picture of the room was small but still looked like quite a nice room. After we arrived and checked in, the room was not what we expected. As we entered we stepped in a hole in the floor that was covered by the carpet. The room also had a smell that smelled a lot like mold. The ceiling above the door obviously had water damage at one time because the paint was peeling and looked quite dirty. Although the room did not leak while it was raining outside, the repairs on the ceiling/walls had not been done. The curtains were white but stained. The bathroom was completely un-acceptable for a motel room being rented out. The ceiling panels were sagging and one did not fit properly and looked like it could fall down. The bath tub had mold in the sealant around the tub and up the wall. The sink looked as if it could fall off the wall. The walls under/behind the toilet were dirty as were some areas on the rest of the walls and on the light switch. The heater in the room was located under the window and was sealed with cardboard and duct tape. We felt uneasy about sleeping in the beds in this room as we started thinking that maybe the beds and bedding may not be the cleanest. To me, the bedding smelled but that may be due to the smell of the whole room in general. We did not want to hurt the owners feelings or make a fuss, so we told him we didn't think we would be staying the second night and could we be refunded our money for the second night and he said no. My husband got quite upset as I insisted we go the nearest store and purchase an air bed and bedding for the night as it was last minute to be looking for another hotel/motel room. The next day my husband told the owner we were leaving and then told him everything that was wrong in detail. The owner got angry and said no refund. A heated disagreement followed and we left to go home a day earlier than we had planned. The room was equipped with a small refrigerator and a microwave which were both clean. However, they were plugged into an extension outlet and not directly into the wall socket. I'm quite sure that appliances are to be plugged in directly to the wall socket. He never offered us another room until after the disagreement started and we told him we had taken pictures of everything that was wrong. By then we were too upset to accept another room and insisted on a refund. We do have pictures on our camera if they are needed to verify the condition of the room.Desired Settlement: Would like a refund of$119.99 plus tax.
