I have done business with Backwoods for several years. When I first started with them, I found them to be fair and courteous. Over time, their services have gotten much less than acceptable. My biggest complaint is with the billing procedures and their lack of communication. Backwoods is expanding. As a result, they fall behind frequently on their billing. When this happens, they calculate two bills together and submit it to the customer for payment, which oftentimes doubles the amount owed for one cycle. This is extremely disconcerting for an average customer, who pays his bills on time. It is NOT the consumer's fault that they cannot keep up with their paperwork. Another problem has been with the actual services that are performed. In July, I was charged for three hours of trimming at $75 an hour. Half the shrubbery was left untrimmed. I know FOR A FACT that the workers were not here for 3 hours. They rarely, if ever, stay longer than 20 minutes to do the yard. I called REPEATEDLY about extra services and rarely got a response. In September, I wanted an order of pine straw delivered and installed. I was told that the charges for doing my backyard with pine straw would be $380-$400. When I received the bill, I had been charged $480. I was absolutely lied to about those charges, and then they grouped everything together and charged me ANOTHER $725 for that work. I wrote a letter that accompanied the payment IN FULL, and never even received a response! They claim to put weed killer out, yet my backyard is NOTHING BUT WEEDS. They are supposed to trim my seasonal plants and have yet to that. My crepe myrtles and other seasonal shrubbery are always left, season after season. I had a problem with my sprinkler system hiking my water bill up to $300. The water department told me it had to be a leakage problem with the system. I asked Brian to send out his man to look at it and was charged another $75 for that service call. He claimed to have found "nothing wrong with the system". I called another company for a second opinion, and that man found a leak in the piping.

Backwoods may be a "five star" company, but they are not acting like it! They are into big business in this area and have forgotten about their mainstay, which is the small consumer. I do not want a rebuttal with this company. I simply want people to know that they are not honest, and they expect their small customers to SERVE THEMSELVES. If they had any integrity at all, they would contact me in some way and try to straighten this out!
