According to the [redacted] agreement, the restaurant has to collect tax and gratuity from the customers which stated clearly on the voucher. The customers should see it before they purchase the deal. Terms & condition are stated clearly on [redacted] website. We, the restaurant have the right to...

collect the tax from the value of the total bill which is calculated from the total bill that customers order not from the amount paid for the voucher that they purchased which is $22! Plus, the restaurant collected Tax for the State not for the restaurant. This is food and service business. There is no exemption or no discount on tax. Also, Of course, the customers should tip the wait staffs from the value of the total bill plus anything else as well but it depends on the discretion if nothing wrong with the service and food. Also, the voucher is limit 1 per table, Dine-In only, valid only for 2 people. For this case, the customer tried to call the restaurant and wanted to used 2 [redacted] voucher for 3 people on that day but my staff ;[redacted] already explained to her that we didn't allow to do that. [redacted] recommend her to use one voucher and order a la carte for the third person. She refused and eventually she came with her children and claimed that she wanted to used 2 vouchers for 4 people. They were sitting at same table and used 2 vouchers finally. [redacted] didn't want to argue with her anymore since there was no point to do that. We're doing the food and service business to please customers not to upset customers. Everything went fine until [redacted] saw she left $12 cash on the table which is good for one bill. My staff went to give the customer the bills which had to be separated since she used 2 vouchers. The wait staffs had to open the orders and settled the orders separately. They were authorized to settle the discount one at the time. Also, the customer was responsible to pay the tax and the gratuity for each bill. She was very difficult for my staffs to deal with. She didn't listen to anything and refused the read her own [redacted] voucher that [redacted] showed her. Moreover, there were only 2 wait staffs on that night and it was getting busy. Finally, [redacted] forced herself to give the customer $1.95 for the tax charges each bill plus the gratuity. Also, the wait staffs had to pay the tax different on behalf of customer back to the restaurant on that night. Moreover, according to the wait staffs, the customer left the money and walked away. One of the server asked her about the left over since he just packed her food only half way. It was busy and they spent long time on explaining to her about the deal. But the customer said No to the left over and walked out of the door without waiting for her $1.20 change. Last, that was the incident that happened on that day. We had this deal for long time and I guess only one person that claimed the same issue like this one but no one else seems to have problem with it. We tried our best to accompany our customers. For this case, we showed courtesy by allowing this customer to use 2 [redacted] vouchers on one table. Please advise what we can do since the customer didn't have to pay the full tax because the servers already paid for her on behalf of or if she really wanted the service tip back plus her $1.20 change. I'll advise my server to arrange that but she has to come and get it at the restaurant by herself.

Review: This business is unscrupulous. IN a nutshell, this was a [redacted] promotional value of $22. It is not the deal advertised because they ILLEGALLY tax you on the full, pre-promotion price/original prices. We had 2 tables with a [redacted] each and had no problem paying separate bills so they capitalize on double tips, even though it was the same hostess/waitress. They originally taxed me $3.89 + gratuity $7.45 = $11.34 which was now more half of the $22 [redacted] value !! I peacefully tried to resolve this and pointed out that they cannot charge more tax than what was actually spent, and what is being advertised. [redacted] the hostess/waitress insisted there was no [redacted] to speak to when requested. They were rude, combative, repeatedly kept telling me they were doing me favors, and that I did not understand the fine print. While the fine print states that you should expect to pay tax and tip, clearly they did not state taxes in excess of the purchase price and tips that were almost four times the total of taxes and purchase value. After giving up and needing to take my tired children home, they changed the tax, the gratuity remained the same - $1.95 + $7.45 = $9.40, on top of a [redacted] for $22! I gave $20 cash and did not receive the change, which I forgot to ask for!! Furthermore, our leftovers that we were taking home were held hostage in the back while I tried to resolve the issues. They refused to bring it out until we were leaving. Knowing what they could be doing with the food in the back, I left it behind, even though there was an almost full entree. Please see the receipts as proof. See advertised deal [redacted]Desired Settlement: They should be contacted and be held liable for any legal recourse for illegally charging taxes in excess of purchase price! Furthermore, this is bad business and service! See other reviews on the same issue on Yelp.com It would also be great to get a refund of the excess of tips + gratuities that were not justified.Thank you in advance.
