ASM Educational Center (ASM)

I have had MS for 29 years and have been confined to a wheelchair for 7 years. My disease has been stable for 3 years and I am no longer on disease modifying agents. Justin O’Young came to my house in October of 2018, evaluated me and told me that he would deliver a power wheelchair to me before the end of the year at no personal cost. In January of 2019 he attempted to order the chair and found that my physician order was over 6 months old and no longer valid. I therefore established care at Rush University in Chicago. He attempted to order the chair again and discovered that I needed a physical therapy evaluation. At Justin’s instruction, I returned to Rush to see a physical therapist only to find that Medicare required a different PT evaluation. I then met Justin and a physical therapist in Highland, Indiana, for this evaluation. Justin submitted the order again for the wheelchair and then informed me that my portion would be $4000. I stated that I wanted to see the chair prior to purchase. Justin eventually brought a wheelchair to my home last week. I am 5’2, weigh 115 pounds and have been using a 55 lb. scooter for 8 years. Justin brought a 400-pound power chair that does not fit into my bathroom. My goal is to be as independent as possible. Justin suggested a slider board which requires an aide to assist me. I could not get the power chair that he brought through my kitchen. Justin suggested a raised toilet seat which would further limit my independence. I inquired about a smaller chair and Justin now tells me that because of my diagnosis and evaluation I am not eligible for anything other than the 400-pound chair that he brought. Is it possible to obtain a smaller chair that meets my needs and does not require a $20,000 remodel of my bathroom? I am frustrated and disappointed with the service I have received from ASM.

ASM is great and I have learned a great deal of information The Instructor is knowledgeable and I received a wealth of information in preparation for my A+ certification We received valuable tools for our profession All the employees a nice and professional, especially Adrienne - she is wonderful

great place , great staff MrH*** is wonderful instructor helped me a lot getting my CCNA certificate , the center uses all good materials for teaching , easy to understand , his videos on ASM website is very easy to understand not only that , also tips and hints for CCNA exam helped me alot to get my certificate , I highly recommend ASM for any one who's seeking a profissioanl engineering certificate toward a good job
