On Jan 24th [redacted] contacted Aspen Springfield about his sons account being sent to collectionsHe was upset because he was told to contact us via email, which he did but never got a response backWe verified that we did receive his email asking for an explanation of the charges and disputing them but the email was sent during a time when our account was being flooded with emails and his email was missedI apologized to him and told him I would do everything in my power to assist himAfter reviewing the photos taken of his sons unit, the charges were justified as the room was left dirty and needed to be paintedHowever, because his original email was never responded to, I contacted our corporate billing department and asked if we could contact the collections agency to adjust the chargesI was able to get the charges reduced from $to $in painting and cleaning feesI then spoke to Mr [redacted] and he thanked me for getting this resolved for him Thank you!

However, because his original email was never responded to, I contacted our corporate billing department and asked if we could contact the collections agency to adjust the charges. I was able to get the charges reduced from  $470 to $120 in painting and cleaning fees. I then spoke to Mr. [redacted] and he thanked me for getting this resolved for him.  Thank you!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, the response from Aspen Heights is still misleading. I asked for photos of alleged damages, both via email and verbally with the manager. They never provided these photos to me as requested (although they allegedly "reviewed" them and determined the property was dirty and needed repainting). I am satisfied that they refunded the painting fees, but still maintain this is a deceptive practice and suspect it is a normal occurrence. They just got called on it this time. I paid the cleaning fee as a matter of good faith to settle the issue since they turned it over to a collection agency five months after the fact and made no attempt to contact me before doing so.
