Installed new driveway and corrected drainage problems. Very good job overall
I had Asphalt Direct come and repave and expand my driveway. Steve, the owner, came to give me a quote. He was very straight forward and gave me a very reasonable price. His workers came on time on the scheduled day. Steve came to the job to make sure everything was handled correctly. They did a great job! My neighbors even commented on how much better my driveway looked. I would without reservation recommend Asphalt Direct.
Review: Last October, the company was paid to fix/apply cement to a retaining wall in the driveway. After the project was completed, a crack was still seen on the wall. A man returned one day to repair the wall but had to work quickly as the owner of the property did not know he was coming on that day and was expecting company. A representative from the company said someone would return to finish the job but he never followed through and no one ever returned to finish the job. The owner of the company tried to contact the company at different times but was never able to speak to a person. The man with whom she had originally spoken never called her back.Desired Settlement: A wall with an even finish and no cracks

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Review: I hired Asphalt Direct to repave my driveway. We agreed to a cash price of $2,650. Nothing was ever in writing. After completion of the job, my wife gave the lead gentleman the envelope with the money included. He told her that it was not enough by $150. As I was not home and not reachable, my wife gave him the additional $150. When I learned of this, I called [redacted] (the owner) and discussed the agreed upon price. After some haggling back and forth, I figured it could have been a miscommunication/misunderstanding and was willing to give the benefit of the doubt. I offered to split the difference (although I was fully entitled to the $150 based upon our verbal agreement). [redacted] agreed and said he would drop the $75 cash off at my house. After numerous phone calls to [redacted] and empty promises (dropping money at my house, check in the mail, etc.), I have no choice but to come the Revdex.com so others aren't scammed in the future and ensure they get something in writing.Desired Settlement: Refund the $75 that is owed to me (really $150 but I am reluctantly willing to split the difference).

Review: DO NOT hire Asphalt Direct owned by [redacted]. His is arrogant, unprofessional, unresponsive & his work itself is very substandard. Here is why: In June 2014 I hired Asphalt Direct to remove my old driveway & walkway and install a new asphalt driveway with Belgian block borders and a paver walkway & retaining wall. Upon completion, I discovered that the driveway he installed was pitched incorrectly so the rear of the driveway would retain rain water and flood to the degree of overflowing the Belgian block bordering the driveway. After several calls and complaints [redacted] finally responded and the least evasive remedy was to install a 3 foot long drain on the driveway with an underground pipe going under the Belgian block draining the water to the lawn. Now, not even 11 months later the asphalt is caving in where the drain was installed. So not only did Asphalt Direct ([redacted]) install the driveway wrong they couldn't even install a drain correctly!
As a result of this faulty work on 6/26/15 I called [redacted] and told him this problem. He told me he would come by my house and look at the drain and speak to a solution. It is now July 27th and after several attempts of calling and texting [redacted] I have NOT heard from him at all. Because of his lack of professionalism and service I am lodging this complaint and plan on taking him to court to remedy his poor workmanship and service.
Additionally, he workmanship on the paver walkway and retaining wall is also very substandard. [redacted] men used a dry saw to cut the brick and pavers making the cuts very rough and uneven. I also had to have [redacted] tear down the retaining wall he installed because it was installed with the downward slope of the lawn and not level as all retaining walls are. [redacted] lied telling me that's how all walls are installed. Lastly, he quoted that he used non-fading pavers. Also a lie, as the bricks are fading after only 11 months.
Buyer beware. DO NOT hire Asphalt Direct, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I'm taking the upper path here and only want Asphalt Direct, [redacted] to fix at no cost to me the area by the driveway drain where the asphalt is caving in. It was obviously not installed correctly as it looks like the soil underneath is giving way leading to the asphalt caving in. It has been over 4 weeks and I have yet to get a return call or text from [redacted] to address this issue that he promised he would address on our call of June 26, 2015.
