Review: Asphalt maintenance did not honor the written estimate that was provided to us. We mailed a $6266.67 deposit check and requested that they return it to us. It has been almost 6 months and the check was never returned. I called again today and the girl on the phone (while giggling at someone in the background) told me someone would get me today (same thing she told me before).Desired Settlement: Our $6266.67 deposit check to be returned to us along with a check for $25.00 covering the stop payment fee that the bank charged us.

Response:
October 27, 2014Asphalt Maintenance provided customer with estimate to repave a portion of parking lot. Customer accepted proposal and sent in deposit check THEN called and asked for additional work not proposed earlier. A new proposal was then provided and customer did not accept. Instead customer asked us to do this additional work for free. The additional work incorporated in the second proposal was over $20,000.00. The customer declined any work and the deposit check was destroyed.Asphalt Maintenance was ready to honor the original proposal until the customer wanted additional work not described in the proposal. When customer did not get his way, he demanded deposit check to be returned. He was informed 6 months ago that the check was destroyed. Our office manager doesn't giggle at anyone, when she is the sole person in the office.Asphalt Maintenance, Inc.

I am rejecting this response because:
At no time did Asphalt Maintenance make an attempt to contact us regarding our deposit check. I called 3 times and left messages that were never responded to. We had to put a stop payment (at our expense) on our check with the bank.
