While we have caller ID, we have no way of knowing which account is calling in from which number. Our technology simply does not allow this and neither does the law. Mrs. [redacted]'s current number was unknown to us, as this account has been closed for quite some time. Additionally, Mrs. [redacted] was not placed on hold for 8 minutes and a review of the recording is unclear as to why the line disconnected but it was certainly not intentional on our representatives' part. From the recording, it sounds like the caller hung up, but it is not clear whether it was intentional or a function of some other call failure. What it not unclear is that at the time the line disconnected our representative was in my office discussing this account. When he returned to the line, it was disconnected. A return call was made but no answer was received. Thereafter, my staff and I went to a pre-planned company lunch. It was during this time that the message was left for our legal department.
