Review: I purchsed a foreclosed home in Jan 2014, in [redacted], PA. During the foreclosure, the home was managed by Asset Management Specialists (AMS). For the month prior to closing, the company was to turn on the water so that the home inspectors could test the water. Four (4) times prior to the closing, the company stated the water was on and an inspector was sent to the property to test the water; three of these times the water was not on and the test could not be done. Finally, they disclosed that there were a water leak that needed to be repaired. The leak was in a small section of copper pipe in the Utility room. The leak repair was done 2 days prior to closing, and the water test was not completed due to this delay. The company ended up removing approximately 8 feet of copper pipe and replaced it with PVC.
Less than a a week after the closing on the property, there was a water leak on the piping the company replaced. Luckily a contractor was working in the basement and heard the water flowing from this leak, or the basement would have been flooded. He was able to turn off the water to the house and stop the leak by doing this. I called AMS about this issue immediately and their reply was that their work is not warrantied. I was not looking for a warranty - but looking for workmanship that lasted longer than a week on a repair.
I called in a plumber myself and his assessment was that the work was not done to code (wrong material used for piping, wrong fittings used coming off of the water heater, etc.). Additionally the water heater had a leak on the bottom of it as well - that was overlooked by AMS when water repairs were made.
All of the piping was replaced at a cost of $1200.
I contacted the company (AMS) after the repair was made and communicated the details of the issues and cost. They made no efforts to reimburse me despite the emails asking for any kind of reimbursement.Desired Settlement: Refund would be nice but I wanted to report the service/lack thereof for Revdex.com info.
