***?This is regarding the concern identified as ID #*** from MrChristopher R*** to Revdex.com.? Texas American receipted a contract for a purchase of property on June 23, 2016.? The closing took place on July 29, 2016.? From June 23rd through the date of closing there
was no mention of a request to Texas American to escrow a deposit for a lease.? On the day of Mr***' closing? no one? asked whether Texas American would agree to? hold a $1,lease deposit.? The closer was handed a copy of a lease and it was the closers understanding that this was between the two parties outside of closing.? Unfortunately, Mr*** did not? determine? whether Texas American agreed to hold the deposit or? if Texas American saw that a deposit was supposed to be held or even if Texas American assessed a deposit fee to the seller.? Nothing was said about the deposit being held by Texas American until Mr*** called wanting the money.Having reviewed the lease agreement, we do see one phrase in the entire agreement signed by the landlord and tenant that states "Deposit is to be held by title company".? ? It is unfortunate that the parties did not see fit to discuss this condition with Texas American to obtain our agreement or confirmation.?
