transport business and decided to purchase the Advantage RE-S wheelchair transport modelThis model is common in the taxi/transport sectorAfter several months of using and having this unit he called saying he was having issues securing the wheelchairWe explained again to him how to tie down the wheelchair with the standard Q-straint wheelchair restraint systemWe also said installing an automatic Q-Straint system is a second alternative if it better suits his needsWe agreed to install this unit in his van if he would drive it to our facility at no charge to himNormally this system would be upwards of $to the customer as an add on to the base conversion modelThe customer drove the unit here and we installed the system that day at no chargeWe showed him how to use the system before he left our facilityThis system is warrantied by Q-straint as is all of their productsWe simply installed their product as they instruct in his vehicleHe stated multiple times there is no issue with the installationTwo weeks ago he called saying that it had began to malfunction and spoke with our staff engineer, *** *** *** went over with him again on the correct application of the systemThe customer at that time mentioned he possibly should have purchased a two wheelchair van and that he had made contact with ***a ***e, as that's what she was running in her fleet of medical transport vansI contacted ***a and she says at no time did she ever tell him his van would not work for medical transport and that his unit had been inspected by the state and had passed all regulations and is in useShe says he has no experience in the business he is in currentlyWe did tell the customer we would send him a second set of these retractors to replace the ones that are malfunctioningWe also offered to send those back to Q- straint and return them for him as a courtesyWe sold the customer this van built to the specs he requested and high standards we build all of our units withWe have tried to satisfy this customer and at this point have done all we know to doIf he continues to file these type of claims we will be forced to turn this matter over to our lawyer for legal actionOur ten plus years of service in the industry with no complaints on this matter should tell the story
