The...

process for an ADHD evaluation includes the following:

Intake: Information gathering session
Testing appointment: Administration of the Assessment Instruments
Report Writing: Interpretation of scores and report writing
Feedback: Review report, testing results, diagnosis and recommendations

This process typically takes 1-2 months to complete based on a provider’s schedule and availability.

[redacted]’s experience was different as he scheduled the feedback appointment prior to the report writing time.

[redacted] scheduled an intake appointment with Dr. C[redacted] on April 4th, 2016. During the intake, an ADHD testing appointment was scheduled for May 9th. On April 22nd, 2016, Dr. C[redacted] spoke to [redacted] after his individual session with another counselor (per his request) to notify him that based on prior experience with his insurance company, she expected the insurance to deny the testing due to it not being medically necessary as he was diagnosed ADHD as a child and prescribed medications. She wanted him to be prepared in case there would be a full out-of-pocket expense. In this meeting, [redacted] stated that he was unwilling to pay out-of-pocket and cancelled the testing appointment.

[redacted] and his Uncle arrived at the ABHC office on May 9th and stated the appointment was not cancelled. Dr. C[redacted] was not in the office. When Dr. C[redacted] returned to the office the following week, she called and spoke to the Uncle who again stated [redacted] did not cancel the appt. However, she notified the Uncle that [redacted] had indeed cancelled the appointment for May 9th. During this phone call, they discussed the testing appointment which had been rescheduled for June 8th by [redacted]’s Uncle.

On June 8th, [redacted] completed the testing appointment. On June 15th, Dr. C[redacted] met with [redacted] for the feedback session to review the test results and diagnoses. Typically, this appointment is scheduled after the report is completed. Nevertheless, Dr. C[redacted] met with [redacted] and correspondence was provided that outlined the evaluation process and listed his diagnoses. This was done so that [redacted] would have documentation of the evaluation and diagnosis for when he planned to move in August to give to his new prescriber.

In this case, ABHC is confident the client received his services in a timely manner. [redacted]’s testing appointment occurred on June 8th and the final report will be completed by the end of July. Additionally, when [redacted] met with Dr. C[redacted] on June 15th, she provided him with a document for his new prescriber so they would have confirmation of his ADHD diagnosis. This was provided even though the report writing time had not occurred. A copy of the letter can be provided to the Revdex.com upon request. Also, his insurance has been billed for the intake, testing and feedback sessions that have been completed thus far. The report writing time has been scheduled for July 21st and will be billed shortly thereafter. Finally, [redacted] will receive a copy of this report upon completion at the address on file.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:That is an incorrect information that is being provided when I spoke with your customer service representative she did not mention that any other notices were sent to me. She stated that the company does tend to get busy and does not always send out a statements or notices when clients fall behind on payments. If a 60 day notice was sent to me as stated here, a phone call would have been made with the same issues as I reported here that no other attempts were made and balance would have been paid. The balance is not a issue, it's the fact that the company failed to provide statement. This facility is interested in ruining clients credit instead of  fixing  problems within their billing department and how they seek reimbursement.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
