Review: This Company seems to not follow CAN-SPAM, and takes contacting a person after they have unsubscribed to another level. I have emailed the company over 5 times, and ubsubscribed, as well as put them in my junk mail folder, yet they make it to my inbox every single day. They obviously have the technology to persist emails to arrive to subscribers but this is both an invasion to my privacy, a waste of my time, and a general nuisance. This company seems to think that the laws in terms of spamming and the internet do not apply to them. I am not just emailing on my behalf because I find it irritating, but I am also emailing because people should stop getting emails from a company after tbhey have hit the unubscribe buttonDesired Settlement: This is a very small claim. I require no retribution from this. In fact I believe this email should not go to you but to some umbrella organization that deals with internet bylaws. However since it would take awhile to sift through the additional things to find it, it is easiest to do this this way. I just want this organization to learn how to handle business ethics in terms of emailing like any other. Maybe they sign you up for 100 different "delegates" of their company, and you have to unbsubscribe each one. Either way, ACM has definitely hit the end of my patience. Thank you

Response:

An ACM Student Membership was processed for [redacted] courtesy of Google. He was a summer intern at Google and therefore granted this one-year membership. The member had access to unsubscribe to all list serv via the ACM web site: https[redacted].

We have removed him from these lists:

As well as placed his email use on a restricted status.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This is my second official complaint against ACM. They had me on a mailing list where I was getting about 10 emails per day, and was unsubscribing to each one. I emailed them several times before filing an official complaint. I then got an acknowledgement of my complaint with them saying they were sorry and I would stop getting any kind of emails. Now I am still getting newsletters. They have not shown any initiative to stop cluttering my inbox. This is harassment. I have asked to be unsubscribed, emailed them and this is my second complaint towards the Revdex.com against them. They are crossing legal boundaries by continuing to contact me even after I have requested on a personal and legal level to stop. I am constantly getting newsletters from them. I do not want to see their name in my inbox again. Even phishing spam holds to legal boundaries in terms of unsubscribing. I think if they continue after this, there should definitely be some sort of legal punishment (if not already). They have disobeyed your orders to leave people alone once they have made it clear that they want to be left alone. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Business
