Assurant Exteriors Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Though I wished Assurant Exterior would have accepted this responsibility first time issue was brought up to save me time and headaches

Our company completed the work stated above for [redacted]. Scaffolding was not used for the project as it was unnecessary due to the size and design of the home. Pictures were taken throughout the various phases of the project for due diligence.  On October 18th, 2016 the client forwarded two...

pictures; one showing a shingle missing and the other showing cracked shingles on a roof ridge. She requested we fix those items as she believed it was caused by one of our crews during the project. We reviewed the photos taken of the project and consulted with each of our crew leads to follow up on the claim. None of the archived pictures matched the clients. The pictures showed the roof shingles in tact. A follow up message was sent to the client October 18th, 2016 to provide the previous information and confirm that we would not be sending a member of our team to address the issue.  As a company we value standing behind our work and taking good care of our clients. We are happy to address any issues that arise, especially while we are working on our clients homes. We were proud of our the way each of our team's went the extra mile on behalf of this client throughout the project and after completion. Multiple trips were made to address various requests from the home owner.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I would really like to see the pictures taken by Assurant Exteriors (AE) with the shingles intact right after the project was done.AE was right about not having scaffolding, not the proper scaffolding, instead it was a makeshift scaffolding which used the top of our shed for support.   If proper scaffolding was done, damage to our roof top may not have happened since it would have had its own supports.  The west side of our house is 22ft tall with the shed budding up to it which stands 8ft.  How did AE replace sidings of a house that is 22ft tall without any scaffolding/support structure?Yes, multiple trips were made to our house but not for pleasant reasons.  There were multiple damages and bad workmanship that had to be fixed during and after the project, one of which were damages to our newly installed deck boards.  We had to go through a shouting match with AE for them to accept responsibility to replace the damaged boards. I hope AE understands that it wasn’t pleasant for homeowners to deal with damages to their house caused by contracted work.  How AE responded to issues being brought up caused a lot of headache and stress to us which didn’t support AE’s statement of "standing behind our work and taking good care of our clients".
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Upon accessing the archived pictures of the job to upload to the Revdex.com site, we discovered that a few of the photos did not save properly to the archive drive. The picture requested could not be opened to view or upload. Follow up communication took place with the crew lead who managed the final phase of the project in an effort to retrieve the photos from his work device. Confirmation was received that the photos were deleted from his work device last year. This action was taken as all of the photos had previously been uploaded to the drive. In the spirit of fairness and an effort to bring resolution to this matter, Assurant Exteriors is offering to reimburse the client $200 as it is the disputed amount. The client can use those funds to have the cracked or missing shingles replaced by another person or company of her choosing. We are thankful for our teams who worked diligently to meet the needs and requests of this client throughout the project. It is unfortunate that she experienced some frustration as each crew member went the extra mile on the project.Thank you,Assurant Management Team
