[redacted], the owner, installed our travertine patio and stated that it didn't require any sealing. He recommended hosing off with water as the way to clean it. Within two years, many tiles were flaking and the grout washed away. He acknowledged the problem, but failed to follow through as promised with any corrective measures. I have had several experts out since who all say outdoor travertine MUST be sealed to be protected. If I had known the expense and upkeep involved in this material I would never have installed it. I feel mislead and let down that he didn't follow through on addressing the installation error as he said he would. I, unfortunately, cannot recommend him.
